When does it finally seem "real"?

When you used to hear, "Welcome to Orlando...yada yada yada," over the trams to the main terminal at MCO. DFi can do such a good impression!

We didn't hear it last time though... hopefully they didn't do away with it! :guilty:

My husband is an alumni at UMO! What are you studying? OH FYI my brother in law owns the Quiznos in Bangor and Orono. Food for thought!

Well, I thought making my final payment would make it "real." It did, but...40 something days feels like forever. Still waiting for that "definite" feeling. Strangely, my DS (8) has it.

I was just thinking about this the other day. Today, I'm at 40 days, and it still doesn't quite seem real. Tomorrow, once I hit "the 30's", it seems real.

We leave in 2 days and it still doesn't feel real.
I think when we board the plane is when it will finally hit me.

it starts to feel real when I start packing, but not 100% real until we see the Welcome sign at WDW. :cloud9:

I think for me it all seems real once Im at my airport and getting on the plane.. When it becomes real as in "the magic" is when Im walking down Main Street and see the castle for the first time that trip.. Its the most beautiful sight in the world..

when i hear:

"Hello ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to Orlando, Florida, a warm 90 degrees compared to 60 in New York. Please exit the plane in a kind and orderly fashion. Thanks and have a great time!!!"

I LONG TO HEAR THOSE WORDS lol

:rotfl: :teeth: :cheer2:

Well, for me at least, it is the start of the first new day. After checking in, unpacking and having a restful sleep in whatever resort, the first morning you wake up and realize where you are and what lies ahead of you that day... It's like being a kid on Christmas morning. You know, I'm not a morning person by nature. I usually look forward to our vacation because I can sleep in for a change. But on the first day (actually every day) at WDW, I'm up at the crack of dawn and I'm happy about it! Talk about removed from reality... :teeth:
I'll have to agree with you. It usually hits me twice. Usually the day before our flight to WDW, I can barely sleep and I can't wait to be at WDW. And the the first day when we hit the parks it will finally hit me that we're at WDW.

We always drive to Orlando from St. Louis and I don't think it actually seems real to me until we get onto International Drive.

We bought our tickets at the Disney Store in St. Louis, visited the store frequently and it still didn't seem real. We have a videotape of us getting ready to leave for our first time to WDW (at like 5am) and it didn't see like we were doing it.

I get really excited when we drive into Florida (except last year when it was pouring down rain so hard they had declared a state of emergency) and get to the rest stop.

But as soon as we get onto International Drive and I'm looking around seeing everything I realize that as soon as we check i, we are heading to Downtown Disney and then the next day WALT DISNEY WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's strange, but I'm leaving in a week and it doesn't feel real yet. I don't think it will until I'm standing on Main Street. Reason being, I'm going down to dance in the Citrus Bowl parade, not specifically for Disney. We are planning to do 3 days of the park, but I don't have it obsessively planned like usual. I dont' think I'll believe it until I walk onto Disney property.

Now, my Dec. 2006 week long trip seems VERY real even though it's a little under a year away. :) Go figure!!!
