Quick question. I'm currently on the wait list at BLT for a 1 bdrm MK view or Standard view from 12/12/10 - 12/16/10. Currently you can book a 1 bdrm Standard view room at BLT for those dates through WDW website. So, my question is when would Disney release those rooms to DVC members, if at all?

My understanding is they only become rooms for DVC reservations once they are declared into DVC invetory - that is, that the units representing unsold points are available thru general Disney reservations, as well as units representing points traded, banked, etc. I think Disney transfers points into declared inventory into blocks based on sales, but don't know frequently this happens.

One has nothing to do with the other. The rooms that Disney has listed on their website are not available to be booked with points.

In order for you to get your wait list, a member will have to cancel a reservation booked on points.

Good luck, hope you get it.

It usually only goes one way - DVC sends rooms to CRO when a member trades out, rooms DVC itself owns, etc. It's rare for rooms to move from CRO to DVC. Rooms left 60 days before are sent to CRO but can still be booked by either but if there's a waitlist, that should not happen. As far as unsold inventory, DVC usually projects rooms that will be declared into DVC inventory and do not send those rooms to CRO. I guess if more points are sold than they projected, rooms could be pulled back from CRO.

There is no "releasing of rooms". All the villas available are available at 11 months out. At 60 days out, any unbooked points villas are given to DRC to sell for cash. Those might be pulled back if they are unsold and a member wants to use points for a stay.
