When Does Daylight Savings Start?

boy that totally stinks!! The day before Halloween!! It would be nice to have that extra hour to get the kids out to trick or treat instead of running home from work and having to rush them out before dark!

It is nice that Halloween falls on a Sunday this year though. (that is, unless you work on Sundays)

They were talking about extending it a few weeks. Did that ever go through?

I believe it did - two extras weeks on each end of it...so, starting second week of March and ending second week of November. Won't kick in until 2007.

Halloween is on MONDAY - October 31st. What a way to start the week.
ooops! Thanks for clarifying that for me. Don't know what I was thinking :confused3

at the risk of sounding like a know-it-all, we're on "daylight savings time" now. We revert to standard time at the end of October.

While I like the idea of extra daylight hours, moving it back an extra 2 weeks after Halloween is really going to mess with all my spooky Halloween lighting and special effects..waahhh!

Actually, we are on Daylight Saving Time. (no "s" on the end of "Saving"). Another alternative spelling is Daylight-saving Time.

The extension of DST was part of the Energy bill signed by the President in early August. Under the bill, starting in 2007, Daylight Saving Time will begin three weeks earlier, on the second Sunday in March, and will end a week later, the first Sunday in November.

know-it-all!!! :teeth:

I know, Monday, what a drag. That's going to cut into my candy-eating-scary-movie-watching time with my friends  oh well....

Why in the world does it take 2 years for this bill to go into affect? If it's just about 2006 calendars are already printed, itsn't it more important to have the extra weeks, vs. the inconvenience in some calendars with typos? Claendar makers can simply paste a sticker on the outside of the calendars with the new DST dates.
