leave the mousekeeping tip? Like to I leave a tip on Monday for Sunday's mousekeeper of do I leave the tip BEFORE the cleaning is done ?

I would leave it before the cleaning is done. There is always a chance that it won't be the same mousekeeper the next day.

I have a question. I had never heard of tipping the housekeepers before I joined this board. No one that I have mentioned this to outside of this board has either. I'm just wondering where this came from. I'm not saying that I mind it. I'm all for giving people a little extra when they help me out. I just didn't know that it was considered appropriate. I hate it that there have been so many times in the past when I should have tipped and didn't know it.

I was always under the impression that when someone provides you with a "personal" service you tip. Haircuts, Man&pedicures, package/food delivery, and cleaning up after you stuff like that.

Disney does not list Mousekeepers as a tipped position. Whether you tip your mousekeeper or not is your choice. If you do choose to tip, keep in mind that you may have a different mousekeeper during your stay.

My DW and I choose to tip and we do so daily. We make up envelopes before we leave ( http://users.adelphia.net/~heidiw/ ) so this is done and we don't have to search for singles each morning (or worse leave a tip in coins ).

I would not feel badly if you have not done this before, because it is a choice. I don't believe mousekeepers expect a tip and if one is left, it is a nice surprise.

And tipping does not always ensure better service. If it is just average service I do not tip. I want something extra to be done before I tip. --- towel animals, extra soaps/shampoos, extra towels. We had one maid neatly arrange our extra shoes in desending size order. I tip for all these things.
