When do you throw away your soap slivers????

I wet the small piece and wet a new big bar and stick them together. Eventually they melt together. So really, I have been using part of the same bar of soap for about 10 years.

We don't throw them away. We make the sliver wet and the new bar wet and then press them together really hard. After about 20 seconds they are essentially one. No waste.

Ivory, in case you're wondering.

Same here, but in our case we use Dial. It's a no-brainer.

Gel for me, bar for hubby, but he always "marries" the sliver to the new bar. He can't bear to throw out "perfectly good soap".

This sounds just like us!! :rotfl2: Is your DH related to mine??

Hogfan, my mother too. Here's what my mother always did:

1. Save all slivers under the sink.
2. When you have a lot, cut the bottom off a wax paper milk carton.
3. Put all the slivers in the square bottom you just made.
4. Heat in simmering water. Soap will melt.
5. Allow to harden.
6. Pop out your new multicolored bar of soap.

"Waste not, want not."

I throw them down and squish them into the drain with my foot. :rotfl:

Hey, I figure pipes need love too.

This is what my husband does. It incomprehensible to throw a sliver away. Its the principal of the matter.

Tigger&Belle: :lmao: I completely understand not being able to wait for the upside down bottle to start pouring. I'm one of those that stop the microwave within 4 seconds of being done...no matter what I'm cooking in it. I just can't wait those last few seconds. :rotfl:

Good, someone else who understands! I let the microwave go until the end, but I don't let it do all the beeps...I have to reset it before it finishes. :rotfl:

Good lord you have issues :sad2:

This is what we do too.
