If you fly over some of the refineries, you can see that the floating roof tanks are at the top, just like in the 70's. Back in the late 70's, early 80's oil was `$40/barrel. We were paying about $0.57/gallon back then.
I predict that prices will go down after labor day, rise again a little, then go down about Nov1, then back up in late Dec.
By the way, for Houstonians, there is Shell station on the Beltway (north) on Gessner, that has regular for $1.81.9.
