I am leaving for Disneyland in 4 days tomorrow. I just got the siutcase/baggage?-is that what you call it?, out and decided to pack tomorrow, atleast a small part of it. Do you guys think I should already be packed by theWednesday? I was thinking that I would finish packing the day before we leave.

Need advice....

How do you guys do it?

we usually pack about two full days before we leave and set all the suitcases, bags in one area ready to load into the car. this year we are leaving on a Tuesday nite and I plan on being packed by Sunday (since I have to work Monday and Tuesday till 5pm). I will probably do laundry on Sunday, grocery shop on Saturday and run one load of clothes before we leave Tuesday. I like to come home to a clean house.

im leaving in 2 weeks on the 24th and ive already got my suitcase out and have almost everything need for my trip around late next week washing and then hoping it will be soon the 24th

joyce

I'm a list maker- I have planned what I'm going to pack a couple of weeks in advance (we're 7.5 weeks out and I am starting to put together to buy and to find lists and lists on what clothes the kids all have right now- these eventual work their way into what we're packing lists.) That actually packing usually we do the night before (domestic vacations) but as we're travelling transatlantic this time I want to be packed a couple of days early so we have time to chill before the flight

I have already started for my Sept. trip!

I have the laundry soap, glow sticks, snacks, etc.

For our trip on August 11, we will be packing and preparing exactly one month out.

For one, we have a family of 7 staying for 7 days...yep...need an early start! LOL

Then we are sending our dry cereal and the like to the resort via UPS, so that needs to get packed and sent to us before we get there.

I will start packing a few days in advance but leave the suitcase out and open for the last 24 hours and pack those items that I use in the last day before we leave that I have forgotten or use daily. i.e.-brush my teeth make sure I have a toothbrush packed or pack it then, take my medication then pack the bottle, etc.

Our trip is in October and I was buying a few things yesterday.
We've been in to WDW in October before and know that it can
still be quite warm. So I wanted to get a couple of handheld fans
for my DDs. And being from Minnesota...those things are around
only for a short time!!!
As for the actuial packing...about a week before...

Another list maker!

We usually visit WDW in December and the weather tends to be variable. In other words, pack for any weather!

Any items I won't use/wear in the month prior to the trip I tuck in a box. That's usually travel toiletries, some winter tops (thermal weave and sweatshirts), second pair of well-conditioned sneakers, extra socks, lingerie, etc. Some of those items are already there, as I refill the toiletries after each trip.

I have a limited wardrobe, so I usually do laundry three nights before departure and pack what I won't need for the next two days. My checked bag should be packed at that point.

Then I do laundry again the night before we leave. That's what I'll wear for travel and pack in my carry-on bag, just in case!

I'll finish packing the night before we leave, if things are going well. If not, I'll finish packing on my way out the door! *LOL*

I've been packing for weeks now, and I'm still not ready for our July 11th trip. :confused3

We leave in 13 days. I have a laundry basket that I am slowly filling, (and the kids are slowly emptying) with stuff for our trip. I can't pack our clothes, it is hot here, and hot there!

I will have all of our clothes packed in our suitcases by the day before we leave. I will pack the carryon bag as well. The morning we leave, I have a checklist that I use to pack the things that I can't pack in advance. (My glasses, cell phone chargers etc...)

Once we put everything in the car, I will try to mentally run down my list and make sure that we have it all. My friend is picking us up and driving us to the airport in our own vehicle. Then she will have my keys, garage door opener and won't have to use her own gas! She will then be able to check our mail and feed our cat for us.

Great everyone! Okay, so today I packed my socks and my undergarments. It is a family of 4 and we will be staying for around 19 days. Since it is so many days, should I finish everything tomorrow, not Wednesday?

I'd finish packing tomorrow. That way it lessens the craziness of getting ready, plus it leaves you with extra time to remember things you might need. :thumbsup2

Gosh, I am WAY ahead of the game.
I have about 40 days until we leave and I already have a bunch of stuff packed up. :rotfl2:

Can you tell that I am excited for my trip.

I couldn't imagine waiting until days before I leave to pack. I would drive myself insane.

I usually pack the night before and since we are only going from 8/28 to 9/1 this time, I will use only one carryon for me and dd6.5 and dh will use one carryon for himself.

Like Tosha, our family of 7 doesn't leave until Aug. 16th. I have already started gathering things, like toothbrushes and toothpaste, laundry supplies, shampoo and conditioner. I also have rain ponchos from the dollar store and light up necklaces from Five Below. In July I'll start picking up snacks for the car ride. We usually stop in Daytona (not as much traffic there as in Orlando) and pick up water bottles and a styrofoam cooler (we'll pass that on to another family) and breakfast foods.

WOW!i am amazed of how people start packing a month before! But hey, I'M NOT GOING TO STOP YOU.:lmao: :lmao:
What snacks should I bring?
Iknow that I will get suger cravings during the flights. So I bought yesterday a small bag of candycorn- this remingds me of Heimlich's choo choo train!!!!:thumbsup2 I am also going to bring a couple of those kellog's bars- the vanilla flavors.

What else? I should go buy on Wednesday.

We leave on the 24:cool1: I already have DNiece 2.5 packed except for diapers and the little her parents have to pavk. My mom and I went a little wild buying her new clothes (Disney of course!) for the trip. I haven't started packing for myself yet but have been getting things ready and decidng what to take. Everytime DNiece sees an airplane she says "Me and Linda (my DSis) and Mama (what she calls me) are going on airplane to see Mickey Mouse and princesses"
