Everyone thinks I am crazy. I don't leave for another 4 months, but, I am starting to pick things up when I go shopping. Does anyone else do this so far in advance?:confused3 :confused3

hahahaha - I am not going for another 6 months and I have already picked up a few things.

I find it fun and keeps my focused on my holiday !!!!! (not that I need much help with that)

Im not going until May 2009 but I am already picking things up such as things for my kids goodie bags.

Because I was thinking that the people that DON'T pick up things in advance must be crazy and even forget things that I packed months ago. It's also fun to buy stuff and put them in the suitcase and forget about them. When I go to pack the main things...the little things from months ago are a surprise!:goodvibes
I have new clothes,(still with tags on)and small things from Walmart already packed, and we don't leave until July!:scared1:

Call ME crazy, then, because 4 months is not "in advance" to me at all! Heck, at 4 months pre-trip, I am usually to the point where all I would need to do is toss my toothbrush in the bag and would be then ready to go wait at the airport. :thumbsup2

I have one "Disney box" that stays under the bed, and is always being added to when I find things for our next trip. I never understand people who are leaving in like a few weeks, and say they have nothing packed yet! I would be having heart palpitations at that point! LOL

I know i never understand how people can be last minute packers. I buy things ahead of time but my major packing is between 1-2 weeks before and will pack a majority of my things days before leaving and a little each day. This way I am not doing anything last minute and wearing myself out. I also have my list so i do not forget a thing.

We will be at Disney exactly 7 months from today and I am already preparing! Buying little bit of this and a little bit of that as long and setting it aside for our vacation. I can't help it, I'm obsessed with this trip!

We leave in 18 days and all I have left to do is put the actual stuff in the cases. Which I will do tomorrow. Everything (I think) is ready to go, including me:rotfl:

My son is going to his dads this week so since we are leaving a week from today I "took over" his room and started putting all our stuff in there to take! I found stuff I bought last year, about 6 months ago. I am a very frugal person so If I find something on sale I buy it then, even winter coats in the spring LOL. I get them a size big for my kids at 70% off and then next winter when everyone is spending BIG money on coats, I already have them at a fraction of the price :)

I do the same thing for Disney. If Im at the dollar tree, and they have light up piglet and princess pins for a dollar I buy them for the parks. SAVES A LOT!!!

I also buy things as I see them on sale. I work at a drugstore, so sales plus employee discount always helps. I also have been perusing the disney website to orders some things to take with us as well.

We leave in 7+ months, and I have a bin that I've been tucking things away in.

I ran into someone the other day... They were leaving for Hawaii in 4 hours, and JUST buying all their toiletries! Ummmm.... no thanks!

The last time we went to WDW, it was in October, as well... So, the last loads of laundered summer clothes went straight into the luggage - I was packed for our trip (completely) by Labor Day weekend. I plan on doing the same thing this time - it was so much easier!

D~

We didn't decide we were going till a month ago but I started as soon as the decision was made. I already have my son's suitcase packed and a bunch of snacks for the car (20+hr drive). Have new toys, books, movies bought and organized for the car trip. I have starting packing DH and my stuff but I can't do too much more. DH thinks I am obsessing too much for this trip already.

20 MORE DAYS till we see the MOUSE!!:cool1:

Finally I find people who think like me ! We're going to WDW in May (55 days, YAY) and I started picking up things for the trip ages ago. I'm a big list maker so when I get down to the actual packing it won't take me long. This trip is a surprise for the boys, though, so I can't be too obvious with my packing. My youngest is home from school sick today, so I can't get anything done but the next day they're both at school I'll get the suitcases up from the basement and start throwing in the stuff I currently have hidden under my desk - hats, cooling neck bands, water shoes ... the things I don't need here in Ontario with the 2 feet of snow currently on my front lawn !

One of my co-workers is going to wdw in April, I asked her if she start to gather her stuff together what she will need. She informed me, she has a month to go and will get her things together next month before she leaves. I told her she will need this or that. She said, I have to make sure I go shopping the weekend before I go. I told her I hope she doesn't forget anything waiting for the last minute to gather things for her trip.

:yay: :yay: :yay:

I am so glad to find this post so I know I am not nuts!! I was getting things for my ds easter basket and I found myself picking up trial size items for our trip that is not until May. I even started making my list the other night of what I will have to pack! I am just so excited!!

We don't leave for WDW till September but I know that most stores are putting out their summer clothes now and by the time we go to WDW the summer clothes will be gone and it will be fall clothes. Being from Oregon and where it rains 9 months out of the year, buying shorts in march doesn't make much sense. We don't get sunshine and warmth till the end of june. But shoot I can't wait that long to buy shorts and tanks. I know that Sept. in Florida is fairly warm, so I've been buying summer clothes like crazy!! :)

I think part of the fun is the planning process. Cause once you get to WDW, your trip goes by so fast. I think it's great to buy little things you need for your trip here and there. That way in case if you forget an item that you need, you will still have plenty of time to pick it up prior to your trip. :)
