I think I understand the process, but I'm not sure -

We had a site visit a couple of weeks ago with a SM for my DD, who chose the WP and Living Seas for Mar 2007. I know that she has to wait until 1 yr out from the wedding date, then the deposit of $1000 goes in - and I guess that is when the contract is signed? But if that's the case, what are you agreeing to since the planning visit hasnt taken place yet, just the minimum expenditure based on venue/day/time?

I booked Nov 10- then I had to turn in the room block info and then they sent the contract which had to be returned by Dec 16 w/ a 1000 deposit. I think that Thanksgiving delayed the process a bit

Hi-

We sent the contract and $1000 deposit in at the same time. We visited on 12/29/04 for our 12/29/05 wedding. We sent the contract and deposit in during the middle of February. There is a wait then to receive the contract back from Disney with their signatures.

The contract is about a 15 page legal document. Essentially, you are signing a contract that you understand and commit the the "rules" laid out as such. This ranges from payment agreements to general information to service charges to applicable taxes to liability and cancellation policies. You get the picture! When the signed contract and deposit are in, you are then and only then guarenteed your venue, date, and time. One of the other components is the contractual agreement to your room block- locations, dates, and numbers. Also included in the contract are the mailers that Disney will sned your guests. They ask for you to check over them and make sure all the information is correct. It is a lot more than signing for a date, venue, and time!

Yes everyone here gave you great information already. As a theme park bride your DD can sign here contract at 1 year (as we did at the LS) Ballroom brides must wait for 8 months to sign a contract. And just as stated above you sign before you plannign session. The Contract is more of the rules and regulations.

by the way you DD has good taste...we are at WP and LS as well.
