When do you receive your rewards certificate/card for the Disney Visa?

My husband and I both got our cards on Friday. I was wondering, how long do we need to use our card before we can collect the awards on our purchases? Is it a yearly thing? Or can you request it when you want? Anybody know for sure? Thanks in advance!

You should have received a guide with your card.

You need a minimum of 20 reward dollars to collect an award, which means spending $2,000. Once you have that, you can request an award. They are in increments of $10 for WDW, Disneyland or Disney Store (you have to choose which one). You can request them by phone or the website. I thought I saw in one place that they should come in 2 weeks, another place said allow 4 to 6 weeks.

I'm not sure if I understood this correctly, but do you mean that for every $2000 you spend with the Disney Visa, you get 20 reward points, which are equivalent to $10? I haven't spent enough (nor gotten my 1st statement yet anyway) to get anything so I wasn't too sure. I read about the 20 points after $2000, but wasn't sure how that would equate dollar wise. I was hoping it was equal to $20 though. Hmm, if it's only 0.5% then maybe I should just stick with the old credit card.

It is 1% back. The $2000 will get you $20. You must redeem in $10 increments though. All of the information is in the little booklet they sent you with the credit card. The 1% back is the only highlight I have to my current vehicle crisis--at least I'll get points towards my next vacation because of the stupid transmission!

To redeem, you have to have 20 reward points, which would convert into TWO $10 reward certs. I assume they made it 20 so that there would not be as much paper processing than if they allowed you to get 1 $10 at a time. And I guess they made them worth $10 instead of $20 so that you would be more likely to be able to spend it all in one place, they don't give change.
