When do you pack?

About two weeks before we actually leave I start gathering things up and getting the suitcases out. I actually make a list earlier than that, and just keep adding to the list as I think of things I want to take. Last year I had a "packing list" for the various suitcases, so I'll dig that out and use it as a guideline. We won't be gone as long this time though, so won't need to take as much. I'm taking a large carry-on, one large suitcase and putting a duffle bag inside the suitcase to bring souvenirs home.

Two days before the cruise, we take a trip to Target for last minute necessities (it's amazing to me how we all survive without the last minute items during the rest of the year, but we leave for a week and must have a new whatever) and do laundry.
The evening before (to make the time pass more quickly), we pack, go over documents etc...

To the January 3rd cruisers,
Have a great time. I will miss sailing with you, but am now looking forward to February 7th!

Well I'm kind of a last minute packer too. I don't like to pack too early, cause I usually need something I've already packed. We left on our cruise the friday before, and there are 3 of us so I packed for my DD on Wed. night. myself on thurs. night. of course my DH packed fri. morning, and forgot a few things. And it worked out pretty well for me. That way I didn't stress out by spending and entire day/evening packing. I packed the utilities the morning of. After I put on my deoderant, in the suitcase it went. Makeup, into the suitcase, hairspray, into the suitcase etc etc.......That way I didn't forget anything I use daily!!!

I have to admit--I already have one suitcase packed. Our cruise insn't until April!!

Actually, I am quite lazy this year. We took a Mexico trip in October. A lot of the stuff (suncreen, sandels, visors, over the door shoe holder, bathroom odorizers --oh, yes---this is a must in Mexico!!, and many other things like this) never left the suitcase from our trip. I tucked the carry on under my dresser and told my MIL I was already packing for our cruise!!

I will start packing a month to two weeks before we leave.
