When do you leave dinner?

Okay here is a crazy question for you. Does everyone leave the dining room at the ssame time? Are you served all your courses at the same time or does it depend on how fast you eat? We have only been on 1 other cruise (princess) and we had anytime dining. It never took us more than 45 minutes for dinner. How long do disney dinners take?

Since not everyone arrives, sits down is served at the exact same time....dining time can be anywhere from 1.5 hours on....we always get late seating at 8:30 pm and are usually out by 10:00...some nights it might be a bit later but not usually. If there is somewhere we want to be we will let the servers know and they will push it along as fast as can be. Sometimes we are so full from the meal that we leave before dessert.

We had late seating. We had a table for 10 (our group and an unfriendly family of 5). Unfortunately, the father in the other group was terribly picky and had to keep sending EVERYTHING....I mean EVERYTHING back, sometimes 2 or three times. No wonder our waiters were always grumpy and not very friendly. Our dinners took about 2 hours. Sometimes more, sometimes less. By the end of the week, we were just getting in as early as we could, eating as fast as we could and leaving as soon as we were finished. Our tablemates were really miserable to sit with, so we really gave up trying to be sociable after the second dinner. Most people begin eating at around the same time, but depending on your servers, how big your table is, and how fast you eat, dining durations really vary. Sometimes there is a little show around dessert time, but we usually skipped out on those, as we are seasoned cruisers, and Disney's were really lame compared to others we've seen. I would really count on at least an hour to hour and a half for dinner. Animator's Palate is longer, as the servers are supposed to be serving your courses to different scores of music. That was a very long dinner.

We had early seating which means that there is a max time for dinner since they have to get everything ready for the second seating. This doesn't make it rushed though.

We sat with other Disers and everyone was on time so we all ate together. Our dinners probably took about 1.5 hours but that's also because we were having such a great time.

yet another benefit of having late seating...you're not rushed out the door. We tend to travel in large groups, and 2 yrs ago when there were 6 of us, it often took us 2 hours to finish dinner b/c Major (he's in the army) would order at least 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, and 2 desserts. At LEAST 2 of each, often more, so our dinners took quite a while. I can't imagine having to rush that with first seating.

We had late dinner on both cruises...our first cruise..table of 10...once we got to know all the other couples..we did a lot of talking..so dinners took almost two hours.

Second cruise..our party of three was seated with a one other couple..and they were rude as could be the first night..so we didn't eat in the dining room again the whole cruise.

You leave whenever you're finished. It is perfectly acceptable to excuse yourself and leave--after all, there are shows, etc. that you might want to get to.

If you find yourself seated with a family or individual who is for some reason incompatible, you need only to ask the head server to have your family moved. We've never had a problem, but it does happen sometimes. There was an issue on one cruise we were on where an adult was behaving inappropriately toward the teen/pre-teens at dinner. DCL handled it well and moved all the others from his table!
