When do you go on Grizzly River Run?

The ride looks awesome, but when do you go on it? Right before an afternoon break? Is it even possible not to get soaked and if so, what do you do?

My personal favorite time is early evening when it's starting to cool off and get dark. Then you get off and put your dry sweatshirt on! That's just my favorite!

I'd say it's pretty impossible to not get at least partly wet! There are lockers nearby that are free so at least your stuff will stay dry. I also change to flip-flops for water rides so my shoes don't get wet.

Most of the time we're 'prepared' with cheap ponchos so the 'water damage' is usually minimal. Otherwise we ride right before we run up to our room to change for pool time or dinner.

We do the cheap ponchos also. I would say it's highly unlikely to come off the ride without being at least mildly wet. Usually soaked.... Unless your have a poncho.

We usually have one day during our trip where we like to go spend a couple of hours in the pool in the afternoon. We usually stay at DLH-- we ride GRR- almost always are totally soaked- exit CA through the GC and walk back to the resort, throw on swimsuits and get in the pool.

Do the ponchos, but don't forget to put up the hood. I had on a poncho and water came up over my head and down my back. I still got soaked.

It never fails at least one person in our family of 4 will come off drenched, even with ponchos! We make sure to wear shoes that can get wet or dry quickly. We tend to ride before heading back for afternoon break. There are lockers to use to put your stuff in, you could always take a bag with a change of clothes and leave wet clothes in a regular locker if you didn't want to take a break.

We go as often as possible. It's one of our favorites. We go early in the morning when it isn't crowded, then later we'll grab a fastpass for afternoon on warm days. You can and usually will get soaked...like drippy pants soggy.

We go right before our afternoon pool break. We usually have one person in our family of four who gets really soaked and the rest of us are all pretty wet. It's nice to go to the pool right after that since we are already wet.

Right before afternoon break. We single rider it to save time but it is a lot of fun to ride in the same boat with the rest of your group and see who gets soaked when. And it is an amazing ride! Wet varies, generally really wet, sometimes soaked, rarely barely wet.

It is not possible to stay dry on this ride! We ride it any time of day as long as the line isn't long. When it's cold outside we wear ponchos, when its hot we just suck it up and get drenched. My absolute favorite time to ride it is at night when the fireworks are going off in disneyland. You can see the high fireworks on the ride and it's just so magically. Don't forget you can put your belongings in the free lockers beside the ride so important things like your phone don't get wrecked from the water.

We go on it whenever we feel like it, one night rode 6 times in a row near park close, soaked to the bone on the walk back to the hotel had to use a hair dryer on the shoes in the morning despite putting towels in them. Love it, getting wet is part of the fun.

Ponchos are for wussies LOL

Our visits have always been when it is over 90 with the Santa Ana winds blowing. We dry off pretty quickly...

I usually ride it about the same time I get really dumb. "Oh, let's ride that. We haven't done it this week". That usually precedes a long walk back to the hotel to put dry clothes on. This is a ride that really needs to be pre-planned with ponchos loaded into a backpack.

It's usually my last ride of the night, that way I don't walk around with the wet clothes on all day. That happened to me on Splash Mountain before and it was a mess lol

I wish I had the sense to plan ahead for GRR; I usually just hop on if I'm near the area. The last time I went on, we ended up going to Olaf's snow play area right after. o_O

I only ride it if it is hot and want to cool down or if I am staying at GCH so I can go change right away if I need to.

Since we will be staying at VGC, we will more then likely ride it (or get a FP) around our afternoon break so that when we do get soaked, we can just head back to our room and change.

We just let the sun dry us off after we get soaked if we ride during the day. Riding it at night just before going back to your hotel is *really* fun as well. There are a few spots in the ride that are pitch black at night so each dip and turn is a surprise!

I am a big wussie! I bring cheap dollar store ponchos for myself and we tend to ride right before afternoon break or at the very end of the night while WOC is going on. My boys favorite thing is to play in Redwood Creek during WOC and then do GRR like 10x!
