I love both halloween and christmas. I typically start listening to holiday music November 1st, but maybe i'm weird.

How about you all? When do you get into the holiday spirit? After thanksgiving? After halloween? :goodvibes

As far as Christmas music goes, I wait until the day following Thanksgiving. And I'm tired of hearing it by the New Year.

Decorating the house, putting up the tree, etc. is the weekend following Thanksgiving.

Christmas shopping is anytime during November, trying to finish up by December 1st.

I definitely wait until after Halloween. I put our tree up usually in the first week of December. All the house decorations come out at the same time. With all the stores having Christmas stuff out so early, I like to wait a bit so that I'm not sick of Christmas by the time it finally is time.

I like to have the house decorated the week of Thanksgiving. Start listening to Christmas music when I start putting up decorations. We don't listen to a whole lot of holiday music at my house, though- DH works in retail, and he has to hear the same songs over and over for more than 10 hours a day, so that's the LAST thing he wants to hear when he gets home.

This year we will start the Christmas mood earlier- we will be at WDW from 11/8- 11/14, and they will have Christmas up and running. We will get a good dose in us!!

I usually start getting the Holiday "twitch" in October. However, this year, I haven't really gotten yet. I think I'm still in Summer mode.

We've had pretty warm weather here for the month of October. The heat was off until last night and will be staying on now that the weather is getting colder (it was 35 last night). So I think that has had a lot to do with it. When it's too warm out, I can't think of Christmas and New Year's.

Altho I've already starting C'mas shopping via internet, I usually don't get into C'mas spirit and music until after Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday as I love having all our family together and counting our blessings. We also have 10 family BD parties to celebrate between now and C'mas. So for DH & myself no tree or decorations till second week in Dec. when we send C'mas cards out, have a family tree trimming party, grands C'mas program activites, baking, and the holiday spirit begins in full force!! :santa:

Woohoo!
The first thing I said to myself when I woke up this morning was:

"It's November 1st, I can now listen to christmas music and it be socially accepting"

Christmas Eve...in those blissful few hours between dinner with the MIL and showing up at her house again Christmas Day.

It's so peaceful and quiet for just me and DH to be together. It's honestly the ONLY time it feels like Christmas to me.

Today!

I love this time of year and celebrate as long as possible.

Officially today!!!

I just finished my Santa shopping and have this overwhelming urge to get out the wrapping paper and all the Christmas decorations!!!!

I was wanting to listen to Christmas music this morning. We decorate for Christmas the week of or before Thanksgiving. It is a lot of work and we like to enjoy it as much as possible. However, all the outside decorations do not get turned until after Thanksgiving.

I actually listen to Christmas year round. For some reason it simply puts me in the best of moods no matter what time of year. I typically put it on when cleaning my house, it makes cleaning as fun as cleaning can be.

But as far as true planning and getting things organized and purchased I start around October/November.

The tree and decorations go up the day after Thanksgiving. When trick or treating was done last night the first thing DH said was "can we put the Christmas tree up now?". Afraid he has to wait a few more weeks.:goodvibes I'm not much into Christmas music except for Trans-Siberian Orchestra. I will start listening after Thanksgiving. DH will probably put Christmas CD's in the car any day now if he hasn't already done so.:upsidedow

I love Christmas, everything about it! So as far as I am concerned Thanksgiving is PART of the christmas season, and that season starts today.

I listen to Christmas music all year long. But I have been itching to put up Christmas decorations now. Usually, I don't want to put up with the effort and skip it and go out and enjoy others. Something about this year really makes me want to put up a tree and get into the spirit. The decorations always seemed to make my home seem so inviting and warm.
