When do you get into the holiday spirit?

Pretty much as soon as Halloween is over I have to start talking myself out of putting the Christmas decorations up so I don't seem like a whacko! LOL! I am definitely not one of those who are annoyed by Christmas items coming into the stores early each year. I wish I could put my tree up right now!!!

About Thanksgiving week I get into the holiday spirits. I don't do it too early so I don't burn myself out

I've been in the holiday spirit since about August..

I'm really pumped for Thanksgiving and Christmas this year.. it's the decorations that really do it for me, plus the music and the weather (although there are no white Christmases here in South Florida..).

I'm looking forward to all the decorations, ads, the parades, etc.

It used to be early July when I'd get together w/friends and we'd build Halloween props/decorations. Now, since we moved and it's just me, it's Sept when I start building and getting the Halloween displays ready. I like to wind down for a couple of weeks after H-Day, but the real holiday feeling starts at 9 AM on T-day, when Macy's Parade is on.

Always November 1st. My Christmas club account matured today and I got quite a bit of shopping done today. I can't wait to start putting up Christmas decorations right after Thanksgiving.:santa:

I like to enjoy Thanksgiving so I will listen to CHristmas music as soon as the radio station that is all Christmas all day begins playing it but no decorating until the day after Thanksgiving. I do decorate outdoors before because I gt tired of freezing and trying to break through frozen ground. I will nto turn the lights on until the day after though. I love the Holiday Season!

I'm already driving my dept nuts about Christmas already. We've decided to have an UGLY CHRISTMAS SWEATER day....

I don't like Halloween, could live without Thanksgiving but I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!! Halloween and Thanksgiving have always been those two humps I had to get over to get to Christmas!!:lmao:

We're in a new house so the spots for the trees have been decided already! Yes, TREES! I have about 6.

I have a basement full of decorations and had my uncle go thru them last week. I'm so excited!!!:dance3:

I will begin putting up the inside Christmas decorations next weekend when I take down the Halloween decorations. The outside decorations don't go up until Thanksgiving week. It takes me so long to decorate that I start early. I like having everything in place by Thanksgiving. Since I am working full time right now, I will only have the weekends available. Must get started!

As for Christmas music, I listen to it year round whenever I'm in the mood. I have a playlist on my IPod of Christmas favorites.

I won't be able to enjoy the holidays until the semester is over. Thanksgiving is just a reminder how little time we have till finals and graduation!

So I wont kick back and 'enjoy' it until those are over. After christmas its time to get into wedding mode again!

I try really hard to wait until the day after Thanksgiving. As much as I love Christmas and usually can't wait to start celebrating, I also know that if I start too soon I will be sick of it all before Dec. 25th even gets here.

I like to enjoy November as still the last month of Fall. I just put up my Thanksgiving decorations today. October is for all the witches/ghosts spooky stuff and November is for all the leaves/pumpkins harvest-y stuff. :)

I get into Christmas mode the day after Thanksgiving. Decorations go up inside and out the weekend after turkey day!!

I am syncing my Holiday playlist onto my Ipod as we speak! Of course the list is so large I have to remove a bunch of other music LOL.

I think I'm going to put up my tree tomorrow! We got a new tree last year and new LED lights that are so pretty. I love Christmas!

guess Im already in the spirit. Im almost half done shopping and planning on finishing at Micheals this weekend. Only things I need is a couple more photo books LOL!

I think you may be my new best friend! Everbody around here keeps telling me that I am weird! We started decorating our house this past weekend (October 30th)! We were listening to Christmas music before that!! We were hoping it could help reduce some of the blues being felt around here but it hasn't totally eliminated them yet. Still working on that. However, we are getting close. See:

And, no, there is no Disney in this picture, but there is LOTS of Disney in our decorations. That was just the beginning of our decorating...

I love love love the holiday season! And I start to get excited for it when "Christmas in july" hits QVC! LoL!

Then once October hits Im in full swing.. halloween and fall. November 1st is christmas music, christmas countdown, plans for the holidays food and such. ANd lots of shopping!!!

My DH does boycott putting up the christmas tree until the day after thanksgiving.. boo hoo!!!! I love this season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't. A variety of factors have soured me on most major holidays over the years and I usually can't wait for them to be over, especially Christmas. I worked shifts for many years and that included many holidays. The in-laws always had to control major holidays and that did not set well with me. My lack of religious beliefs make religious holidays almost non-events for me. The ones that count are Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Veteran's Day, sometimes Halloween and Thanksgiving. I'm not so much anti-holiday, I just like to keep them simple and secular.

We're spending Christmas Day in Epcot and have priority seating for the Candlelight Processional. I do like that as good entertainment.
