When do you decorate for the holidays?

We will put ours up Thanksgiving Weekend this year! We don't usually put it up this early, but we are leaving for 10 days at WDW on 12/8!!!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Can't wait!

Emily we will be at the Poly Dec. 15-22 Ill look for ya there!! Have fun:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I usually put mine up the first weekend of December but since I'm going to be in WDW at that time, I think we'll put it up over Thanksgiving. Of course now that the dogs aren't little anymore, we might have to decorate it over and over.

Growing up it was 2 weeks before Christmas. Now it's whenever I get the chance. LOL! However, I bought a Barbra Streisand Christmas CD yesterday and am tempted to play it NOW! :teeth:

Usually the day after Thanksgiving, but it might be early this year. We will be gone the first week in December so I might do it soon.

I'm pretty bummed that we can't put up a real tree this year because of our vacation - oh well, I'll survive :)

Ever since I married DH, I've been putting them up earlier and earlier. I used to decorate about 2 weeks before Christmas, but he's allergic to real trees, and since we're using artificial, it won't go brown if we decorate early. He's very impatient and loves Christmas, so we usually end up decorating for Christmas before Thanksgiving. This year I'll probably cooperate with decorating early. I'm 7 months pregnant, and it's just going to get harder and harder every day.

We're going to be away on our cruise the last wknd in Nov and 1st wknd in Dec so most likely wont decorate until Dec 14th!
I am thinking of getting the boxes out the wknd of Nov 23/24 so I can find our stocking hats - Christmas picture next to the MAGIC's Christmas tree!

We decorate on Thanksgiving weekend and the decorations and outside lights stay up until Jan.!

I am like Snoopy - the world is so dark in the wintertime, the lights shine a serene and peaceful calm. I personally would like to see the lights up from Nov. - early March.

I usually decorate for Christmas as soon after Thanksgiving as possible. :)

Hey, Pam, do what I do. I keep those twinkly white lights over my fireplace mantel all winter long. It makes the house so warm and light, and its more wintery than Christmasy.

Our tree and outdoor lights go up on Thanksgiving weekend:D :D............. .

My sister and her husband put up the outdoor (icicle) lights for me, so that’ll be whenever they have time and the weather is okay. I’ll start putting up indoor decorations a little at a time beginning Thanksgiving weekend. Usually, I do the silhouette lights for windows first. I don’t have a big tree, but several small ones in different rooms instead – I even put a little one in my powder room. All the lights will be on timers, so I don’t have to run around and plug/unplug everything.

DH will have the outdoor lights all set up and ready to go on after we get home from Thanksgiving Dinner . . .they'll stay on through New Years Day.

We will be setting up the tree November 30th or December 1st . . .we usually do it Thanksgiving Weekend . . . :D

We do the outside the weekend after Thanksgiving, but because we have a real Christmas tree every year, we normally get it 2 weekends, at the most, before Christmas.

We normally set the tree up the week of Thanksgiving and decorate it on Thanksgiving day and the following days.
We try to put up the outdoor decorations a little earlier due to the weather. You never know what the weather will do next.
But since buying our 9ft pre-lit tree last year it now takes a little longer to decorate it. Before we used to have a bunch of ornaments left over due to lack of space on the tree. Now with the big tree we have needed to purchase more ornaments to fill it in.;) So we will probably start the week prior to Thanksgiving putting up the tree.
Which is fine by me!!!:) ;) :)
