When do you book December flights?

So I am looking at flights right now from Sacramento, CA to MCO for December 10th thru 19th. When we went 2 years ago the cost was $406 pp on United, but United is $100 more pp. Delta is $360 pp, but I am not sure if it is too early to book flights. Should I be looking to book in August? Also, SW is $540 pp!!!

When Jetblue first announced their Dec flights, they were very high. So high in fact, that I cancelled my resort stay. BUT...they came down about a week ago..I paid $250 r/t...much better than well over $300. Then, rebooked my resort.
There is really no surefire way to know if, and when, fares will come down. Some have had luck booking the month prior to travel. Others, not so much.

I booked early May from JFK to MCO for our December trip. Price was $220 pp round trip ($440 for the two of us) and one leg went up for a time but went back down to where it was. Was pretty pleased since we paid $571 in April.

I booked mine for christmas on monday when southwest opened their fares, Southwest on way down and delta on way back was cheaper then anyone rt

I booked my October flight in March at $100 more pp than I have ever paid in the past. The flights have done nothing but go up since then so I am glad I bought when i did.
