When do we expect 2024 Europe Itineraries to come out?

I thought I read that because of the Magic's age, Disney is going to start keeping her in and around the Caribbean/Bahamas/United States and start sending the Dream to Europe during the summer.
Don’t think it has anything to do with age. The ship is either sea worthy or not. But they obviously thought they could charge a premium over previous prices for European cruises 🚢 f they send the newer ship. I saw quite a bit of advertising here in Germany for the “new” Disney Dream cruising in Europe for the first time. But then they had to offer heavy discounts for nearly all the cruises.

They really should just do more cruises around the med and skip the ones up north. Even in summer its just too cold up that way and not a lot interesting ports.

There are plenty of interesting ports. But DCL has started to choose less interesting ports. Like the recent switch from Amsterdam to Rotterdam in one of the cruises this summer.

There are a couple but not a lot. St petersburg would of been a great one but obviously had to cut that for obvious reasons. A trip that starts or ends in iceland would also be good to enable further exploration inland after or before the trip. Northern Scotland and Faroe islands could of been another interesting one. north Norway another.

some of the random towns in england, germany and the southern parts of the nordic countries they have choosen instead really dont appeal. France, germany and the UKS best places arent on the coast (atleast in the case of France not on the northern coast).

We could not dock in Amsterdam last year that may be why. We did tour Amsterdam we just had to take a 45 minute free shuttle. It's a great city, so were all the other ports. The greatest thing about northern Europe is your not constantly harassed. Italy is the worst. It's even worse than Mexico.

Disney Cruises dont have to stop at a foreign port. They choose too in order to avoid paying us taxes and abiding by us labor laws.

hawaii is the perfect destination for cruising.
It's actually the Passenger Vessel Act that prevents it and goes way beyond taxes and labor. The ship has to "mostly" be built in the US.

That is not legally correct. They have to stop at a foreign port for any cruise-loop out of the U.S. and at a foreign distant port for any cruise leaving from one U.S. port and ending in another U.S. port because their ships were built in Europe and they are flagged in the Bahamas. All cruise lines operate in the same manner not to abide by the U.S. tax and labor laws, but they still couldn’t do a U.S.-only cruise with their current fleet.

If you read about the grindadráp, then perhaps you'll understand why Disney would not want to sail to the Faroes and explain that custom to children. Not exactly magical...

I get what you are saying. But they did heavy discounts on European cruises at some point in the past as well. I distinctly remember one or two years with lots of European residents rates like Florida resident rates. I think it must have been around 2010.

Also, all the price conscious people already rebooked their reservation to the GTY rates. Which are non refundable. Those who are still with normal bookings are either clueless or don’t mind the price. So, I don’t think it will matter.

I also very much believe that DCL will not go down in price for Europe next year. Very very few instances where cruises were cheaper in a following year than before.
Yes, we started our DCL addiction with one of those rates! It was only $900 per adult for a 10 night Med cruise. 😃

Well... 2x to Europe for cruising and 2x on Norway, Iceland, Scotland... Now... don't get me wrong, I'd also do a Greek island cruise in a heartbeat... but this is part of the marketing strategy... offer different types of cruises, with few repeats other than the 7-day Med cruise, and people keep on coming back. Med cruises are of limited interest to me... very easy to go to Rome, Livorno, Cannes, Barcelona

It may and it may not. Speaking with crew last summer on the Magic, they did indeed mention that the "long, tough European itineraries, including the crossing" is starting to take its toll on the ship... Now, I'd also agree that DCL has wanting the Dream in Europe for a while because they believed they could fill that ship

So... here's a new tangent here for discussion. Paris will be hosting the Summer Olympics next summer... What this means is that from around mid-July to at least mid-August, airfare to a portion of Europe is going to be higher, hotel occupancy in a portion of Europe is going to be higher... and overall, an European vacation may be a tad more costly than anticipated. I don't believe that DCL would not sail out of Europe, but would they modify some of their sailings to stay away from the crowds... (not just France, peripheral countries will be busier as well) Traditionally, this is the time of the year when DCL moves to northern Europe a bit more but really curious as to whether this may have an impact or not...

Norway,Iceland, and Scotland was my favorite cruise. I think DCL just needs to change up the ports regardless if its the Med or Northern Europe. I agree with you on the Greek Isles vs the Med, but I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them.

I wonder if GTY rates will end up being better again next year

The Olympics is only 15 days July 26 to Aug 11. It may affect flying into LHR during that time period. Book early.

I remember someone saying this a few weeks ago too. I think the Magic is going to start staying closer to the US and the Dream/Fantasy will take over the Magic's European sailings.
