Someone told me this weekend and someone else told me it's later in the month..

For the most part, I like this new time change - but I do feel sorry for the kids that have to wait for the school bus in the dark.. Fortunately my DGD doesn't (she's only in the 4th grade and the bus picks her up in front of the house), but from the middle school on up it's dark while they're walking to the bus stop and dark while they're waiting.. I could see where that would be quite a safety hazard - especially if they have to walk on a well-traveled road to reach their particular bus stop..

This saturday night

We change them on the 3rd..

Nice seeing you posting..Hope you are feeling better

I don't understand how it saves energy to have longer daylight savings. We just turn on the lights in the morning instead of early evening. I wish we could just stay on standard time all year.

AMEN!! It is so dark when I leave for work in the moring you'd think it's still night! It's not saving me any energy.

You're right - that DOES stink!! Never even thought about the poor night workers..

Good to see you back, C. Ann! :)

Mommasita and Hedy - thanks for the "welcome back".. I hope to be able to return to posting on a regular basis now - just might be a different "style"..;)

I think the idea is that you don't have to turn on your lights until later in the evening. I haven't had to turn on my lights in the mornings. I get up around 8am and it seems bright enough to see. So, I think they're assuming that the lights won't be used for as long in the morning.

Day light savings time is actually in the spring. We're going back to our normal time.

the time change was actually for the farmers back when we had no power... doing it now really makes no sense

It's not just for the farmer's. It has a lot to do with the natural pattern of the sun.
