when do us schools go back

we are planing on a last minite trip at the end of august before our kids go bak to school at the start of september(UK).When do children go back to school in the states as we are only going to book trip 1 - 2 weeks before we go and if they are back at school there would be a beter chance of getting a suido at such a late stage

Except for a few states I believe school starts in the first few weeks of september.I live in New Jersey and our summer vacations start in mid June and go back the first week in September.I hope this helps you.

In Louisiana, schools go back second week in August!! It is going to vary a lot depending on when the kids got out!

DS6 starts school August 24. I would be upset, except for the fact that DS6 and DS3.75 are already getting, shall we say, a little "testy".

Seems like they go back earlier every year. When I was in school we went back the day after Labor Day. But I digress...

As you can see, most Southern and Southwest schools are back in early to mid August. Schools in New England/New York/New Jersey (and probably other states in the northern parts of the U.S.) generally go back right before or after Labor Day which is in the first part of September.

In our part of KY we will go back Aug 9. We usually go back a week earlier than this but due to construction we are a week later this year. I believe most school around this part of the state will start back by Aug. 9 or before. We have many schools that are on the "alternative calendar"(6-8 weeks for summer; go 9 weeks get two weeks off the rest of the year).

Go Back?!?!?! Please...I'm the bus driver lady and we didn't even get out yet. Our last day is this Friday, June 18th. Had a rough year with some of my younger elementary passengers (6 of my 51 passengers are ADHD). Love all the kids, but at this point I can't wait for my two month down-time. Will be recuperating at OKW Aug. 22-28th. Hoping the crowds aren't too bad. Our NJ school district starts back the 8th of September.

Mid August, park attendance drops to a levels consistent with May. After Labor Day they drop to very low levels for the rest of September.

Schools generally begin opening from mid-August to the week after labor day.

In California most schools go baek after labor Day....around Sept. 8th this year. Last summer we did the DCL 7 day the second to last week in August followed by a week at WDL the last week in August. The parks were fairly empty. You'll notice the points go down on August 16th (I think()

Florida schools are back by August 16 this year as far as I know. My county used to be a week later and the last one to start but we moved forward a week this year and will again in 2005. Then we will be in line with the Orlando schools.
