When do they "count" your bottles at the Port?

One person is going to be carrying all the alcohol for the adults - but we aren't all arriving together (one family is driving in from Orlando, we are coming from a hotel by the Port, and a third family is also staying at another hotel nearby). Will the alcohol be counted before you go into the terminal or before you go on the boat? We are hoping to all arrive at about the same time, but I'm not sure how it will actually work.

Thanks (and sorry if someone has asked before).

Typically, if one person is carrying everybody's alcohol maximum (so that one person is carrying more than just their allotment), the other people covered should be within pointing distance to say "I'm carrying his, and her allotment, also". Not sure how stringently that's enforced. Probably at the point where they screen the bags (as you enter the terminal).

We pack my 2 wine bottles and DH's 6 pack in my bag. Every time I've been stopped at the first check point and needed to prove mine and his ( standing next to me).
So first check point and all must be present. They will confiscate anything over the allotment at that point. You won't see it until you walk off the ship on the final morning. Your plan has errors.

We are 3 adults in one family. We put all the allotted alcohol in one carry on bag. We have never been asked to show what alcohol belongs to which person. In fact, no one has ever counted or even commented on the wine bottles in the carry on.

On the May 18th Fantasy they were checking more closely. Our friends had 4 bottles that one person was carrying and they asked which adults they belonged to. I don't think one person will be able to carry the whole group's wine if they are not with them. YMMV

Thanks all. I talked with the family and we're going to coordinate arrival times a little more closely.

Update for anyone interested: Only 5 of the 7 adults were together at security (the last two were on their way back from off-site parking) with all the wine in the suitcase - and no one seemed too concerned about it. But, I can see how they might want to check it there as there wasn't any other time anyone paid any attention to our luggage.

The real lesson learned is apparently we can't drink 14 bottles of wine in 8 days. :-( (with only 3 of us drinking regularly).
