When do Song and Jet Blue usually drop their fares?

We are flying out of Boston (Logan) and I need to purchase my air tix. I can call Disney Travel, and have it added, but since we booked just land right now (they didn't have any bulk tix, and if we got retail, we would have had to pay for them upfront instead of just the $200.00 dep.) I figured, I might as well see what I can do to save some money. Right now, AAA and the airlines themselves are running similar at around $185 for Song, and $205 for Jet Blue. I am trying to plan timewise. How long can I hold out to book the tix? We need 9 seats all together.

I booked my Song flight for June in Oct and paid $165 r/t. I just booked my dh for the same trip and it was $50 more as of last week-end. I'm not too sure you'll see Song go down too much. I don't think I've ever done better than the $69 each way I paid. Dh's flight was $119 to MCO and $69 back to Logan.

9 seats TOGETHER!!!! I'd book now- the longer you wait, the less chance of getting even 2 seats together! Or, is there a way that you can split up? I would not imagine that it would be 1 adult and 8 children...

Hey, look! A fellow Newtonian! Welcome to the DIS, neighbor! We're technically in Waban, but way over by the hospital, so in the Lower Falls zip code.

As for Song and JetBlue, take a look at their pricing policies on their websites. It pretty clearly spells out that the cheap seats go on sale first, and the longer you wait, the pricier they are, unless there is some sort of sale. I'd take $185 in a heartbeat! Also for 9 together, earlier means better chance of choosing seats close to each other.

Sounds like a fun Grand Gathering! Enjoy!

Waban... I used to work with a guy from Waban when I worked in Waltham... we used to joke that NO ONE knew where Waban was!!!!

How's your snow? (We sure are glad we moved out of that blizzard-infestation 18 months ago!!!)

The snow is doing great! The rest of us are a bit chilly tho :cold: We got 28 inches at our house last weekend, then another 8 on Wednesday, so the snowpile left beside our driveway has made for some great sledding for my DD (5). The -5 degree temps are a bit chilly, but nothing I haven't seen before (being from Maine, via Montréal).

We got back from Florida on Tuesday the 18th (after 10 days of balmy 60s and 70s), where they were complaining about the cold 50 degree temps. We returned to 8 degrees and it stayed that way, until it warmed up enough to snow.

So we're just finishing off the citrus we brought back (and more we had shipped) and remembering that somewhere in the world it is warm. That, and pricing Song fares for Columbus Day (looking pricey, but we'll probably buy soon), and planning for our April trip.

I don't know when you are going, but I have usually found that song rates will drop once the Southwest rates come out. This is usually true for flying from Hartford to Orlando. Since Southwest now runs out of Logan (but not to Orlando), not sure how that is going to effect prices.

Is there the possibility for you to fly from Manchester or Hartford to expand your options?

Right now I am watching for Southwest fares to come out for our June trip and have seen the fares on Song to come out to match (right now fares on Song from BDL to MCO are $133 one way for late June, but of you check out June 6, the last day SWA is posting reservations, the cost is $79.00 one way).

For flights in late summer the flights have gone as low as $59.00.

Yes- 74 here today- just beautiful... and there are so many oranges on my trees that I couldn't possibly eat them all!!! When we moved here from NH, I insisted on an orange tree and a lemon tree when the realtor asked us what we were looking for... I ended up with a lemon tree and 14 orange trees!!!!!

What does that mean, that the cheap seats go on sale first?

When I booked on Song, all the seats were the same price, and for a very low price I was able to get prime seats in the front, where the first class used to be, and is considered to be the most desirable area in the plane.

Another fellow MA person here! We just came back on the 18th of Jan also - in time for the wonderful blizzard and other snow dumping storms! I just booked our flights on Jetblue (we just love that airline) out of Boston for August. Total price is 155 - $69 each way. Don't forget that if the price drops after you book you can always call them up to have them credit your account for the difference.

I would say go ahead and book now so all 9 of you can sit together...
