When do schools breakup in US?

If by break up - you mean when are we finished for the year the answer for my kids is today. Most schools in my area (Central Illinois) will be done by the middle of next week.

It depends on the location and whether it is public or private schools. It is usually anywhere between late May (usually the seniors get out first, late May-ish) and most other kids go into June. My kids don't get out until June 20th!!!!!!!! (It seems like it is later every year) It is so ridiculously late that most parents are not sending them on the 18-20 so they can leave for vacation. Private schools usually end 2 weeks prior to us.

what does break-up mean over there then? actually break-up means any number of the "school terms" they seem to have over here, sorry just naturally thought you would assume I was talking about the next school holiday that was coming.

ahhhhh right - it means divorce here too

I suppose with alot of words it depends in what context your saying it

I'm more concerned about the parks being full with the locals who have AP passes.

Osceola County is out May 21st and Orange county is out May 22. I think those are the two school districts closest to Disney.

Where I am, Miami, school is out May 30 and the specialized Zone schools in the district are out June 1.

Totally varies from school to school and state to state. Our school here in MA ends June 15th. Early for us this year as we only had 1 snow day to make up.

I suppose no matter what time you go in June/July it will be crowded with all types of vacationers, but I plan on having a good time anyway!
