When do schools breakup in US?

Our schools here in central MS let out yesterday and start back the 2nd week of August.

Around here in northern MI it varies between June 1st and June 8th. We start back to school after Labor Day.

Here in Augusta GA we got out last Friday May 18!:cool1:

That is just not fair. Every year around here (balto.) they let out later and start back earlier. We get out June 20 and go back August 27. No airconditioning in most of the schools either. It is insane. The kids don't even feel like they have had a break. The working parents love it, and I think are actually pushing for it. The working parents also don't like when the schools close for intense heat or snow, because it interferes with their jobs :sad2: They call the school system in droves complaining about it. When I was a kid we had off from the Fri. before Memorial day unil the Tues after Labor Day with out fail.

Does anyone know when the Orlando, FL and surrounding areas get out for summer break?

I'm more concerned about the parks being full with the locals who have AP passes.

we have friends in the Ft Lauderdale area, they finish before Memorial Day, and if I recall, the last time we visited during Memorial Day weekend we were told that the Orlando area was also out for the semester. Note that the "locals" with AP's will most likely have black-out dates, we usually worked around them and did fine both visits. One was the holiday weekend and the other was the last week of June, the crowds are managable.
Enjoy

I may be wrong, but I believe Florida APs are the same as any other APs, they just pay less for them. And APs have no black out dates. There are occasional black out dates for AP rates for resorts though, usually around Thanksgiving & Christmas.. never June as long as I've had them.

Here in NE PA the districts are letting out anywhere from June 8th - June 15th that I know of.
My daughter is getting out the 8th. The district I work for is getting out the 11th. A neighboring district is getting out the 15th! Ugh! Too many snow days this year.

There are three APs available for the 4 main parks for Residents - The Seasonal Annual, Annual and Premium annual. The season does indeed have black out dates, Summer (early June through Mid-August); Christmas and Spring Break. This pass is right about $200 and is what I get. The other two are the same as a non-resident can get, only cheaper.

Broward County (Fort Lauderdale) gets out May 30th

Am i right in thinking these black out days are dates when AP's arent allowed to be used??? (sorry not from florida - unfortunately - so dont know what you get when you have AP's)

where can i find the dates of the black out days, so i can maybe go to the parks on those days (no disrespect to locals meant, id just like to get less crowds as possible :) )

here in southern NJ, the last day of school for my kids is on June 14th (only a few days away & boy are they excited), the school i teach at, the last day is June 18th...it really differs from school district to school district

even though i dont go to school no more i know my nephew and cousins are out by May 31st and some on June 1st I Live In TEXAS :):cool1:

Boy oh boy...I think my poor DD7 takes the cake on this one. Her school doesn't let out until June 25th here in CT! Poor little chicken! And we only had one snow day (two max) that I can think of. She starts back on 9/5/07.

In the town we live in the last day is June 19. In the town where I work the last day is June 15...I get two days to myself!:rotfl:  :cool1: :yay: :cheer2:

DS4's last day of pre-school is June 19. He starts Kindergarten probably on or about September 5.

Here in NY, full day classes should be ending in about 2-3 weeks. After that it's final exam week where they only go in to take their exam (at least for the middle and high schools).

We are in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, school was supposed to be out June 12, but they have to go 1/2 day June 13th because of snow days. The last 2 days are half days for Middle and High school finals. The elementary kids do nothing - it seems like such a waste!

Our last day is May 31st. I can't wait. (I'm a teacher. :) ) Then off to Disney a week later.

Not all Resident APs have black outs and anyone who lives close close by probably doensn't have a seasonal. i'm 3 hours south so the seasonal works for me. I don't go when it's crowded, let alone hot and crowded. This year, for summer, they're blacked out June 9 to August 16 but each of the past 3 years Disney has lifted the end date early (last year by 2 weeks)
