When do resorts decorate for Xmas?

When we arrivived on Dec 4th last year, all of the X-mas decorations were up, parks, resorts, and everwhere else too! So my guess would be between thanksgiving and the 1st of Dec sometime.

By the way it is a wonderful time to visit, the parks are not too crowded, the weather is very favorable, and X-mas spirit is in the air. Make sure you do Mickey's Very Merrry X-mas Party (aka MVMCP)!

the decorations normally go up mid november & are beautiful. they're normally up during our 10-20th of november visits. however the special offerings like candlelight processional & mickeys very merry christmas party dont start until december sometimes nov 30th.

Hi! We stayed at the AKL in Nov. last year. It was atrip to celebrate DD 7th birthday. Her birthday is 11/10 and we arrived that day. We went to bed at 11:00 on 11/13(no decorations) and I got up at 6 A.M. on 11/14 to a TOTALLY decorated lobby. It was amazing! It went on right outside our room and I never heard a thing!!!!! I know the Poly,GF and CR as well as the BWI and YC were decorated within a few days of this too. It is lovely! Enjoy!

Thanks, guys. I really think it'll be great fun. Unfortunately, I am having to put off my plans for a whole year (2006) because my sister-in-law's first baby is due Dec. 1st! I'll have fun planning though. I should have everything well thought out by then, I guess. Not to mention having plenty of time to save money. (These are the things I keep telling myself anyway. Boy, it really sucks to have to wait.)

We are waiting to do our first Cruise (a Disney cruise of course) til late in 2006, because we are anticpaticing the stork bringing baby #4 in Nov! We do not want to cruise with our baby much younger than 11 or 12 months of age.

It's hard to look that far down the road..... My son will be 7 years of age and in the second grade.... wait, wait, he was just my baby not that long ago... actually, I still look at him as THE baby!

I find it intersting to now know that X-mas decorations go up in Mid Nov. Perhaps the cruise may have to be scheduled around that time.

In recent years, the resorts start in mid November followed by the parks.

But in the early to mid 80s, everything went up magically overnight early in the week after Thanksgiving. Of course, there were just a handful of resorts and two parks in those days.

But talk about Magic!

If my memory serves me well, it used to be on the night of Thanksgiving (when everyone was asleep.) now they do it much earlier as said by a previous poster.

Family and I were down last Nov 8-15. Not really much decoration in the parks, but the lobbies of the hotels were starting to get transformed during our stay. Mostly wreaths, ribbons, and lights. I don't believe anything like the Gingerbread House in the GF was up as of that time.

My best guesstimate is that a majority of the decorations will be up during the 3-4 days of Thanksgiving Week.
