When do kids go back to school?

What day do your kids go back to school and where are you located?

Due to state law, schools in NC can not start before August 25, unless the system receives a waiver from the state. In the past, only a few counties in the mountains were allowed to start a little earlier in case of snow days. The law also states that schools have to end by June 10.

Buffalo, NY - the kids start the day after Labor Day

Here they go back on Aug 19th. If you are trying to avoid the rush before schools go back into session, I would plan for sometime after Sept 10th. We went Sept 17th-22nd last year and the crowds were pretty low.

Well I already have planned the last week in August 24-30th and have heard it was not to bad...

We are in central KY. The county schools start August 11th, but DS will be starting a private school with a start date of August 19th.
