When do I need to order DDE card to have it for

You can order it the first week of August and have a letter sent to the Epcot guest relations area. The cards are good until the end of the month that they were ordered.

Order in July after the 5th - the card will be good for one year plus another month. So order July 6th, 2006 - then DDE card good till August 31st, 2007.

Expect the card to arrive in 3 to 6 weeks.
Delivery time depends on demand for the DDE card - too many orders slows down the process. US Mail service could also slow down delivery time as in Mothers Day, Easter, Christmas, major holidays - too much mail to be sorted. I would avoid ordering a DDE card during any of those times.

So from July 6th to August 11th - you will have about 5 weeks of processing time.

Be aware - DDE cards can not be in 'held mail' at the US post office.
The DDE card will be sent back if it can not be delivered to your home.

What to do - as previous poster said - pick up a temp paper at EPCOT guest relations (only Park you can get it at), when you arrive.
When you get home from the August 12th WDW vancation, if no DDE card by August 31st - call DDE 407-566-5858 and have another card reprinted.

I need one for my Dec trip, but I need it to be good Oct 07, so I should have no problem odering it this Oct. Right? It won't expire until after my 07 trip, and I should get it before I leave in Dec?

We are going to Disney World on May 11. I called today, 04/05/06, and ordered my renewal card. She said since I called today, it would be good through May 2007. If I had called yesterday, it would have been good through April. So, she said I should have the card by the last week in April. Hope this helps.

If you call them they will tell you clearly when you need to order it, so that it will both arrive on time and be good for a full year after your trip. They are not like other Disney numbers which give you no assistance -- they really try to help!
