When do I get charged if I modify my reservation?

I am thinking of adding an extra day at the beginning of my stay. I will have free dining and staying at POP. I called Disney today just to get an estimate of the price and it was about a $170 increase but the cast member told me the entire price of what my new package would be. I’ve already paid for the whole current package. So would a $170 just be added to my credit card or would the original price be refunded and then the whole new price be charged to me?

I just added a person to my free dining package and they charged my card right away.

We changed room type several times for our last trip. Each time we changed, if there was a price difference we were charged the balance of 1 night right away. It is important to note that we booked less than 60 days before arrival.

I believe packages are treated differently than room only reservations. My understanding and experience with packages is that payment is due in full 30 days or more prior to the start of your trip. If you’re inside 30 days than yes the new added cost will be due immediately.

This^^^. If you are inside 30 days, payment is due at the time you make the change. If you are outside 30 days, the additional cost will be due at the 30 day mark.
