When do annual passes commence

We have bought deluxe annual passes online, now it looks like this trip will need to be cancelled. Can anyone tell me when the annual passes commence, I know it’s usually when you get there but it looks like that may not be til January, can we commence the passes next year. I tried to ring Disney but it’s after hours and I do need the information now so we can work out the cost of cancelling the trip. Hope someone can help me.

The passes start the day you activate them at the turnstiles. Do your vouchers have an expiration date that is good past next January? I would guess that if your vouchers expire before your next trip that you would be able to take them to the ticket booth at that time to pay the difference (if any) toward new passes.
