My son was 3 in December. He stopped having accidents at naps this past month when we switched childcare. as far as night he still wears a pull up and is usally soaked by morning.
My kids never had nap accidents. That's actually what clued me into the fact that they were ready for potty training. They would wake up form a 2 hour nap and be dry. As for nighttime, DD wore Pull-Ups until she was 5 1/2. She is an extremely heavy sleeper and just couldn't wake up to go. DS was 4 1/2 when he stopped needing Pull-Ups for overnight.
3 out of my 4 have never ever had an accident. My 6 yr old, however, does. He didn't went he first trained (2 1/2 - 3) but started having accidents at nighttime when he was close to 5. It doesn't happen all that often but I did just recently ask the doc about it. They told me not to worry about it and that he will outgrow it!
My DD4 never had accidents at nap time but at night there are times when she does. I always make sure she goes before bedtime, which is at 8:30, and never has anything to drink past 7. She still wears pull-ups but hardly ever has an accident at night.
My DD is 2 and has not woke up wet from a nap in months. She's potty trained during the day and wears "big girl undies" but pull-ups at nap & bed time. Once I run out of pull-ups I think I will stop naptime ones. And she has woken up dry for at least 2 straight weeks as well. I just try to limit her liquid intake just prior to bedtime.
All of mine were really early, like under two, but I think that is really out of the ordinary for most kids. My BF's kids both still have "accidents" and one is 8 and the other 4 and then another friend has two, one is dry all the time at three and the other wets no and then at 2. But if you are asking because you are worried that yours is behind, here is my mother's southern sage advice. "Have you ever seen a 21 year old walk down the aisle to get married wearing a diaper? They will get it in their own time! Don't worry so much!"
Well my daughter will be 8 in August & while she no longer takes naps - she still wears "goodnights" at night time & will sometime be soaked in the AM. All the doctors (even urologists) have told me not to be concerned. They feel that she is a heavy sleeper & when her body is ready - she will continuously wake up dry.
She will go in sperts of being dry for 2 weeks & then soaked for days????
Well I guess I won't worry to much. My son just turned 4 a couple of weeks ago and is still having accidents at nap (most days) and is wet at night. I will not stress about it to much.
My DD4 never had issues with sleeping through the night dry. I can probably count the number of times she has wet the bed on one hand, even when we started training her. She had a much harder time with remembering to go during the day when she was playing. She has had 2 accidents in the past six months and both were an "I'm too busy to go to the bathroom"

I am pretty impressed that you can still get your child to take a nap. Both of my girls stopped napping at 1 yr..... I haven't been able to get a thing done since then..hahaha
Pull ups totally confused my children. If they had one on they would use it. I guess it felt too much like a diaper. If I put them down for a nap (which was never for very long if at all) I would make sure that they used the bathroom and I would explain to them that they had on regular underwear and they would get wet(of couse). Sometimes there would be accidents but that is to be expected. Potty training is hard and you just have to feel like your child is ready for it. If they are not then i feel it is best to back off and try again in a little while.
My two daughters, both potty trained at about 2 1/2, were 5 1/2 and 7 respectively when they were consistently dry at night. My son was also 2 1/2 when potty trained but dry at night consistently at about 2. So many factors influence night time (or nap time) dryness, most of which the child just has to grow into. Remember, potty training is not an indicator of parenting skill, its just an indicator of bladder maturity!!
