When did you pay for off site vendors like hair and dress steaming?

Did anyone pay for thier hair and dress steaming ahead of time or the day of? I am paying for all my girls hair with Makeover Majic. I would like the pay ahead so I don't have to worry about the bill the day of the wedding, same goes for dress steaming. I am curious as to how it worked out for everyone?

I was MOH in a DFTW in November. The vendors we used prefered to be paid cash the day of. The hair/makeup lady did have an option to do Paypal thru her website ahead of time. I'm not sure if the dress steaming lady had the same available or not.

It certianly wouldn't hurt to ask your vendors about paying in advance. There were so many other things to tend to that day, that it would have been less hassle to worry about having that much cash on hand.

I ABSOLUTELY paid everything in advance. I had Lisa Pena for hair and makeup and Carolyn Allen's for dress steaming. I made sure I was paid in advance so the day of, all I needed were cash for tips.
