Maybe the Dis should have a new message board devoted to pregnant gals.

I was just curious to know-when did you all start to get nausated just by walking into the kitchen? I haven't had any yet but am only 5-6 weeks, so it must just be a matter of time.

Thanks for the not so wonderful stories.

At 7 weeks. The day after I took the pregnancy test. And it lasted until 21 weeks. I did get nauseous every time I walked into the kitchen. My kitchen smelled like sour apple juice to me. Blech.

I never did, not really. The few times I did have morning sickness, I thought it was something I'd eaten the night before.

But later on, when I was about 6 mos pregnant, the smell of grilled chicken made me nauseous and I couldn't smell it or eat it or anything. Blech. :crazy2:

I think with my DS, I got just heartburn, never really nausea. I do remember at 20 weeks cutting onions for chili and I had to leave the house because I was about to gag.

I could have sworn I was PG this month also...but so far i'm not sure what's going on. I did feel very yucky last week and just thought it may be. Hopefully i'll be joining you soon!

I started getting morning sickness at 3 weeks. I had it the entire time I was pregnant.

Mine started at 5 weeks and lasted until the day my baby was born. When I got pregnant the second time with my daughter, it was the same thing again! I think I'm the best "thrower upper" in the world!

With DS#1 I only got sick once, but was kind of "gaggy" from about week 7 or so until week 13-14. Not terrible.

With DS#2...Oh my gracious....from about week 6/7 until week 20/21 I threw up at least once a week (usually more like 2-3 times). I could not cook meat (I could eat it if someone else cooked it) and there were times were the only things I could eat were salty potato chips and sour fruit. I didn't gain any weight until week 20, but baby was growing....my doctor told me to start taking B6 (I think it was B6...maybe it was B12) cause it helps with the nausea. And it wasn't just in the morning...no, no, no. All day. It wasn't so bad I was putting myself or the baby in jeopardy, but it wasn't fun. It was the main reason I thought perhaps I was having a girl, because for the first 1/2 of the pregnancy, things were VERY different than they were with #1.

good luck, and hopefully you won't get it too badly...a lot of women are fine!

I actually never had any morning sickness. I was very lucky. :) Of course, when I was first pregnant, I was so nervous that I wasn't getting morning sickness...stupid me read too much online and found stuff that said if you don't get morning sickness then something isn't right with the baby. My DS will be a year old on Friday...nothing was ever wrong with him during my pregnancy.

I got morning sickness before I even knew I was pregnant with child #2.... that is what gave me a clue that maybe I had better check the calendar!...................P

skuttle - I had very little morning sickness. I actually called the doctor certain that there was something wrong. I did feel nauseated after about 7 weeks but if I ate a small snack I felt better.

I actually was sicker with my second, but I think I only vomited once - when I was trying to keep my pregnancy a secret, I got sick in my babysitter's driveway!

I never had M/S with my first and my pregnancy was perfectly healthy and my son is perfectly healthy. With this one, I had it just a little. My stomach just felt a little sick occasionally and saltines did the trick everytime. I never did feel really bad or throw up either. And again this has been a very healthy pregnancy. Hopefully, that means another healthy baby too!! I wouldn't worry about it one little bit.

remember, that morning sickness really ranges in degrees - some people will just get a little nauseous, ohers will not be able to lift their heads out of the toilets and still others will feel nothing at all.

I don't get morning sickness it seems, I am knocking as loud as I can on wood right now. I am in week 8 and I do feel some nauseousness at times, but its nothing really. The thing that is happening to me this time around is that I am having non-cravings. i.e. I can't figure out what I want to eat, nothing sounds good, but I am hungry as all get up. I can't figure out what I want to eat no matter how hard I try. I try something and find out that's not it and can't eat another bite.

During my first pregnancy I had massive heartburn later in the pregnancy - I truly believe the wives tale about this as my son came out with this massive head of hair.

Funny...I thought this was true too and was certain DS was going to come out bald as an egg because I didn't get any heartburn. Nope..that boy came out with enough hair for two babies. :p

My kids have all had a ton of hair and I was on prescription medication for heartburn each pregnancy. I doubt the two are related, but I like to joke about it.
I had m/s at about week 6 with each pregnancy and it lasted a little longer each time, ending at about 20 weeks this last pregnancy.
But, m/s definitely varies from person to person. Maybe you will be lucky and skip it or just have it mildly. (that's my wish for every pregnant women-I personally found I preferred labor and delivery to three months of m/s-ick!)

I'll never forget it even though it's been almost 10 years ago. It started at the 7 1/2 week time. It came on gradually the first few days and then hit me like a freight train!! Lasted until my 5th month.

Morning sickness at about 6 weeks followed by heartburn later in the pregnancy.

The heartburn was AWFUL!

Within days. Really.::yes:: Lasted a good 4 - 5 months. Guess I was one of the lucky ones!

Birth control pills did the same thing to me.

I had it from about 8 weeks to 12 weeks. It was so bad I was losing weight and they put me on meds. It was an all day sickness.

No morning sickness with my first. My second pregnancy had it from 2 week on. I didn't mind though because the complications I had with my first in the long run were worse than the morning sickness.
