When did you first join DVC?

I purchased in 2008 ...after our first family vacation in July of 2007 with tour...

2008, but like lots of you we should have purchased when we first inquired. After many trips (too many - ouch) booking BCV/BWV through CRO we finally joined. DH was slow to jump on board, but is a convert now.

Xmas cruise in 1999 They gave us 1999 points as we bought Aug uy 500 points at $70 a point. Got deals on BCV & SSR for $82.50 As of our 2011 Dream cruises we will be in the black $123,900 includes maintenance and $143,000 in vacations.

We joined on the last day of our 1999 trip when we were staying at the Yacht Club. We took the boat across to the BWVs and were blown away by the spaciousness of the 1BR compared to our very expensive room at the YC. Back then I was still working, so we only went to Disney every two years. Our first trip 'home' was in 2001. Now that we're retired and live here in the Sunshine State, we usually go two or three times between October and May. We've since added on twice at BWV and once at BLT. Still loving it!

We bought our first contract at OKW in 1994.Back then a buying incentive was free park passes for 5 years!Still think Disney should consider making the purchase of park tickets to members at a far better rate than the current one! Anyone agree? After all if you stay on site, you will always be parting with "cash".

Us too! We purchased in Nov. 2008, and I don't want to think of all the trips before that for which we could have stayed on points!

Could not be happier with our DVC purcase so far!

May 2007. Did I miss the boat on this one. We spent so much $$$$$$$ by staying at the Disney resorts over our Christmas vacations and I always remember see the DVC kiosks, but never stopped to check it out. I had that timeshare stigma....one week at a certain time of year plan. In 2007, I had read about renting points from members, did it and now have three contracts. Better late than never I guess.

We did the tour/signed up on our last day at WDW Jan. 31st 2007 before we flew out later that day. HOWEVER, we almost joined in the early 90's and always regretted NOT DOING IT.

Late summer 2003. It's been great!

We first looked into it in 1996. Between that time, and time of purchase, we did lots of non-Disney travel, and then in 2003, we were ready. We never took a tour, but we did get the same guide, Michelle. We were in her records and are truly glad that she's our guide.

2005 thanks to the friends & family promo. DW and I almost bought BWV on our honeymoon in 98, but figured that wasn't the most responsible thing to do. Dw always put it off, but we rented points and stayed at BCV and I knew that once DW stayed at a DVC there would be no going back. Worked like a charm.

We joined October of 1991 while we were on vacation at the Poly. Toured OKW unit with hard hats on. We did not even see Conch Flats or the pool area - it was not done yet.

First stay January of 1992.

We were staying off-site at a timeshare and took time to visit at the Boardwalk. We had no idea there was a DVC and saw a sign along the boardwalk, walked in and asked. They were a bit surprised to see us so interested without having any prior contact. We saw the potential and signed up for 150pts towards the end of the initial OKW offering.

No regrets, it was the best purchase we ever made.

We joined July 1998 after a beautiful stay at HHI in June 1998. We almost took the tour while staying at the CR back in 1993 and now totally regret that we did not buy then instead of 1998.

As many have said on this post our ONLY regret is that we did not buy sooner!! I LOVE DVC and my add on(s) prove that for sure!!!
