When did you first join DVC?

We joined in 2004 and, like many others, we wish we would have done it sooner. Our first trip with our oldest DS was 1998 and I remember seeing info here and there for DVC - too bad we didn't do it then. We never got around to a tour until 2004 as our trip was winding down - joined right after returning home.

Used a friends DVC and stayed at OKW for several years, fell in love with OKW and the ease of use. It was a safe place for a single mother to vacation with her son. Bought in 2000 and have never regretted it! Love DVC.

We closed on our contract in January 2006. We also looked into it in 2002, and didn't join. I wish I had known that I could buy less than 150 points through resale sooner.

July 2005 while staying at the All Star Sport Value... Took one look at SSR and signed on the dotted line! First trip home was in June 2006.

Bought in the Fall of '09. We were staying at our "other" timeshare. Sheraton Vistana Resort. To be frank, it SUCKED! So, on our last day there. I dropped the family off at DTD and went to the talk at SSR. My wife wouldn't even go she was so put off by how we were treated at Vistana. I loved the no pressure approach so much. I went and got them from DTD and took them back to SSR for the walk-thru. We talked about it all the way home (18 hour drive). Needless to say what the result was. A wonderful decision.

I bought at AKV in October 2008. I was 24 and recently engaged. It was a gift to myself for becoming an Associate of the Society of Actuaries. Plus, I bought it before I got married so I didn't have to talk it over with anyone first. It was my money only and not mine plus my husband's. However, DH is a good sport and has already said that he's fine with adding on more once I become a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, since that would be another gift for myself! Plus, I'm getting him into Disney more and more each time we go.
