Just back from our 1 day & night at WDW :( and the trees are gone!! WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN??? Haven't been since 9/11. It looks so bare. :( I understand they were getting tall, but couldn't they replace them? Instead they have Christmas trees & poinsettia tree things that just don't fill the space.

It just looks WRONG!

I haven't noticed. Let's see some before and after pictures!

I went to MVMCP on Dec. 5th (thanks to Lynr!) and I immediately noticed the trees were gone. The whole forecourt area looks SO bare!!! It's actually quite sad as one of the things that Walt loved about the parks were the trees. In fact, as the story goes, Walt kept ordering bigger and bigger trees to go in the parks. Someone approached him and said that the trees were too big and they would affect the size scale of the structures within the park. He didn't care!

At any rate, from what I've heard, the trees will be replaced (smaller ones replanted) after the holiday season.

I noticed, too. It seemed very bare. They might have blocked views of fireworks, but they were also shady spots in the hot summer.
