When Did I get Voted Off of Skinny Island #2: Castaway's Land Ho!!!!

Hey everyone...

I'll be honest I haven't been tracking that much...because this morning, my raft stopped floating. I woke up to the giant shock of the no longer rocking back and forth of the gentle waves....I looked up at the moon and saw in its light a shadow....

I think I found ground......

yes, I've hit Skinny Island:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:. (is this really it?) Now I'm trying to find the Workout Cave.....it's somewhere on here. Can anybody read Islandnese????

My total weight loss: -55 lbs...and I'm within normal weight BMI for my height (Can I get a woop woop?)

(ATTENTION DAWN: My last weight: 184.8...woop woop!) So, did I hit my goal? No...but I have regained my life and added years back to it... I'm happy. And, I while I didn't hit my grand number weight..... I did hit the goal of being happy with my weight, and my life. Woo!

Now, I'm back into the routine of school...and I really need sleep...my brains hurting. I'll talk with y'all later.

Patrick, that's AMAZING!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!

Just had to share a funny story:

Took the kiddies to a parade today...best one of the summer, as they give out TONS of candy and the kids are thrilled.

Anyway, as we are walking from the car to join my in laws who have staked out a good spot, DD exclaims:

Mommy, look! It's your favourite thing!

I look around confused, what is she talking about? I finally have to ask her.

She then directs my attention to a nearby BENCH!!

:lmao::rotfl2::laughing::rotfl:

Traditionally, we take looooong walks (4 to 6 miles round trip) with the kids in the double jogging stroller and we hit up a park for a while before we head home. Though DH is usually playing with the kids, I have historically taken the opportunity to rest on the....

you guessed it! The nearby bench.

Apparently she was making sure I knew there was one nearby in case exhaustion overcame me part way through our (10 minute walk).

Too funny!!

Patrick - Congratulations on reaching the island. Now you just have to build us some nice shade covers so when we are sitting on the beach we don't get burnt.

You are a great inspiration to all of us. I'm so proud of you doing all the hard work to reach your goal.

Busy day here, spent it doing errands, worked out in the yard, baked some banana bread, etc...Didn't do to bad on food either.

Breakfast: fiber one bar (had to run the car to the shop and didn't have time to eat anything.
Lunch: 1/2 chicken burrito
Dinner: Hamburger on sandwich thin, orzo spinach pasta salad
Dessert: skinny cow

8/28/10

Lunch: hot dog, cheese stick, couple bites of yogurt parfait. 6pts.
Dinner: filet, broccoli, salad w/ ff viniagrette, peanuts, diet coke. 15pts.
Total: 21 points.
Excercise: 3 miles.
Water: 64 oz.

Well, I don't feel too bad about my day yesterday, even though I didn't get my movie and a popcorn. (Where is a pouty face when I need one??) Nothing went quite as it should starting with the brakes going out on our car when the boys went golfing. :scared1: Hubby got it fixed, but we're now up to about $2,500 in repairs this year. We always said we would look for another car when the cost of keeping this one running equalled the cost of car payments. Well we're getting there this year.
So, we thought we should start looking at what is available in the "new used" category. Prices didn't look too bad (and of course I found a car I LOVED right off the bat - how did I know that would happen?), but we're hoping we can hold off a year and double our down payment. We'll see if the hubby can hold our car together that long, it's starting to have issues every month. :headache:
Hope everyone else is having a great weekend. After church, I'm going to help the kids set up for their garage sale next weekend. I told them if they run the show, they can have the $$. I had a lot to get rid of, but I'm not a fan of doing all the work involved by myself. This way, they are happy to do ha lot of the work, I still get rid of all the overflow, and they get a little cash for their accounts. Win, win for me. :lmao:

I'm super nervous about the weigh in tomorrow. I've been working out ALL WEEK!!! Out of 7 days I have only missed one. 4 days at the Y and 2 days walking. I haven't tracked my meals everyday, which seems to be the kiss of death, but I haven't splurged. I've munched a lot and eaten smallish meals.

Last night DH and I got to have "adult time" and we split a bottle of wine, so that's a bunch of calories. Today we have a cookout to go to, and we will probably be there most of the day.

I dunno, I haven't lost as much as I thought I would in the first month. I think I need ot lay off the soda, even if it is diet, and drink more water.

I mean, i have to get to Patrick before my Pina Colada melts!!

Good morning all!

Julie- That IS funny!

Jane- Great job on eating! Weekends are hard.

Susan- Here's hoping your car holds out. :goodvibes: Great idea letting your kids handle the garage sale.

Good day here yesterday! Went to the pool for a couple of hours, then to Wally World to get Piper some shorts/skorts that actually fit. The clothes we bought last weekend were all fall, jeans, leggings and such. After five mornings of trying to find bottoms that fit and looked nice for school, I came to the conclusion she needed more. Had dinner with my Mom, then came home and watched Nanny McPhee (the original)..VERY cute movie. Today we're going to my Mom's Back to School cookout (for both girls, my brother also has a daughter..they're 2 months apart..she got double-whammied by grandkids, lol.). My tracking turned out better than I thought it would!

Tracking-
Breakfast- Eggbeaters omelette, bagel thin w/ Brummel & Brown, peach.
Lunch- Tuna on fat free tortilla, banana.
Dinner- NY Strip, mashed potatoes, peas.
Snacks- Yogurt, .5 Thingamajig bar, yogurt again.

Cals- 1534 (1520-1870)
Exercise- 30 min water walking.

Aug 28th- Done!

I'm not even going to attempt to track for 8/26. It was my birthday, and we went to the State Fair. We ate lots of stuff that is not good for me, although we would get one order and share most things.

I will try to track for Friday and yesterday - I didn't actually write it down of course. I just can't bring myself to do it. I have been conscious of what I am eating though.

FRIDAY
B: crispix w/ 1% and coffee
L: 2/3 tuna fish sandwich w/lettuce
S: Hummus w/ pita chips
D: 4 squares of veggie pizza (birthday dinner - NO CAKE! I warned my mother)
Took the girls to the movies and DID NOT get popcorn! And I survived!

AUGUST 27 DONE

Saturday:
B: English muffin - 1/2 w/ PB, 1/2 w/nutella, strawberries, coffee
L: hummus w/ pita chips, There was something else that I can't remember!
S: small Pom-a-mango smoothie (caribou)
D: 1 fried chicken breast, snickers salad, strawberries, small slice of watermelon, pepper rings, green beans, carrots w/dip
I had a piece of cake and a bar at the party too. I ate Paige's leftover cake. We were at a neighbor's b-day party and I had a couple glasses of white wine as well. At least I skipped the potato salad.

AUGUST 28 DONE

My scale is currently broken, so I have not been able to check myself for the last few days (which probably would have scared me into taking up running or something!). DH is going to see if he can find a replacement battery for it. The thing was first showing me Err, then it would post a weight that was 130 pounds MORE than I last weighed on Monday!! I was pretty certain something was not right. ;)

I'm going to go write down today's food RIGHT NOW.
Okay I DID IT! Doesn't look horrible yet. I know we're having hamburgers for dinner, so I will try to have some veggies with it. Maybe I'll even skip the bun.

So for my birthday, my darling family gave me a GIANT bag of Ghiradelli chocolate squares. 1/4 are caramel, 1/4 mint w/ dark choc, 1/4 raspberry and 1/4 dark choc. I got it Thursday morning and am afraid to open it. My family wants me to open it and won't eat any until I do. They, of course, want the candy (rather a self-serving gift, don't you think?)
Do I open it and share and try really hard not to eat some? I think I might share a few at home and take the rest to the community candy dish at the office. What do you think?

Sheree- I have to admit, I would have been upset getting that as a b'day gift, lol. That being said..maybe take out 6 squares for yourself, put them in the freezer? One is easy to fit into a day! Then let your family have some, and take the rest to work? I keep the york mini peppermint patties in my freezer and pull one out sometimes just to get a fix. Also, I have to ask..what is snickers salad? Sounds yummy!

Thanks Amanda - that's a good idea. Rationing and keeping them out of sight should help.

Snickers salad is really more of a dessert! It has frozen chopped up snickers bars, chopped green apples, whipped cream and pudding mix. I think that's about it. It's very sweet and yummy. Paige took some and ate the candy and left the apples, so I ate her apples in addition to my serving.

Readjusted my calories starting today since I'm going out of town to visit DBF this weekend and I know I'll be off my game as far as exercise is concerned. I didn't do too hot this week either...only 16 miles walked instead of the 20 I was shooting for.

I have a dr's appt scheduled 9/10, gotta go get my blood drawn this Friday before I leave so they can do the standard workup. Keeping my fingers crossed I don't have any serious issues! I've never had high blood pressure, but beyond that I have no idea...haven't had my blood sugar or cholesterol tested before.

Hope everybody is doing well! :goodvibes

Congrats to Patrick for reaching the island! :woohoo: Put a towel or something on a chair for me, I don't want them to be all taken when I finally get there. :lmao:
