When did guys underwear get so expensive???

I went to Ross today and found some "cool" underwear for him until American Eagle has a good sale (our closest one is an hour away).

Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, etc. He was happy with them. And I took all of his "uncool" Hanes and Fruit of the Loom and will donate them to the local shelter.

My husband like the hanes from Target or Walmart too, I hope he never wants name brand, they'd kill my budget, lol!!

LOL, same here! Reminds of when I realized DL had mens boxers. I though 'oh great!' but then I saw they were $20 each!! We almost fell over and decided, even with our AP discount, neither of us felt comfortable blowing that much on 1 pair of underwear. :lmao: I might make it a Christmas gift though, ha.

I had always heard boys are cheaper but so far all I have found is that their expenses are different!

Gonna keep that in mind for the future. :thumbsup2

The brands are on the outside of the waistband. No "up close and personal" necessary. :)

What I don't get, and clearly shows I'm out of touch, is why boys even care about this. Guess I never thought about young men caring about what other guys think of their boxers. Learn something new everyday, LOL.

Op, if you want to buy you kid pricey boxers go for it. They're pricey because they're from a store that preys on kids needing to fit in by wearing their labels. It's the same reason a simple t-shirt there is $25. I'm so glad my dd doesn't buy into needing to wear AE clothing, uggs or northface.

My son is a bit socially awkward and does not have a lot of self esteem.

If purchasing him $10 boxer shorts will help his self esteem, I will do so. He just wants to feel like he fits in.

BTW, American Eagle currently has 40% off everything, EXCEPT underwear.

But I bit the bullet and bought him 2 pair today, with free shipping. They will be a birthday gift.

Sometimes we as parents have to say no to our kids and this would be a big no for me unless I got them for the same price or cheaper as other brands. Why to heck are they comparing under clothes anyway even if it is in the locker room?:confused3.

If you let him know this is the reason you are paying the price you better be prepared for the additional requests coming your way.
