Was anyone in the parks/resorts around Thanksgiving this year? When did they start the Christmas music and decorations? We're talking about going next year for Christmas but would like to plan our stay to have the first half with Disney's usual music (especially the Magic Kingdom) and the last half during Christmas decorations. Have they been fairly steady with the days they start celebrating Christmas? Thanks very much for your help!!

I was there the day before Thanksgiving this year and all the decorations were already up. I think they put them up sometime in the second week of November.

We arrived there Nov 9 and they were up AND the Christmas music was playing, too! We had no idea they'd be up so early and were thrilled!

We were there Nov 4 and decorations were up and more and more were added each day. Also noticed the christmas music in the hub. I can't remember which park it was, but we noticed there wasn't a tree yet and then our next visit the tree was there. I think the seriously start right after the Halloween party is over.

Going this early most of the resorts did not have up their trees yet. Last time we went the week before Thanksgiving week and the resorts had their trees.

I really think that they work at the same time to remove the Halloween Party ones and put up the Holiday ones.

It seemed that way because we were there for the Halloween Party and then went back like two days later and the Holiday stuff was all up.

Right, but I believe the christmas happenings officially started on Nov. 23rd.

Actually the first MVMCP was on Nov 13th this day which was also the official opening day of the Osborne lights

Thanks everyone, I didn't realize they go up so early! I had imagined a few days before Thanksgiving without the ornaments and then after Thanksgiving everything turns Christmasey. I guess the best way to do a half and half trip would be to go the last week of December and into the first of January because I believe I read that everything is back to normal the 2nd or 3rd of January. Thanks again!

Everything is not completely back to normal by the 2nd or 3rd of January. When we were there two years ago the first couple of weeks of January it took until at least January 10th before decorations were "noticably" gone. This year the Osborne lights are scheduled to be on through the first week of January I think.

That's what we thought too. We were at MK for MNSSHP on Oct 30th, and when we came back to MK on Nov 3 it was decorated for Christmas!
