Do you call CRO or the Resort directly? We have only one big request (Non-smoking) but I noticed on my original confirmation that one of the buildings that the CM requested was Aruba 51 @ CBR. I have since found that building is a smoking or smoking optional building. Just wanted to know which way is the best.

Thanks

Call CRO. You may think you are calling the resort but you are actually calling a call center.

Yes building 51 is the smoking building.

If Non-Smoking is essential (meaning you would rather sleep in the lobby than take a smoking optional room) then tell CRO that Non smoking is for medical necessity.

This will give a higher priority to your Non-Smoking request, all though it is still a request.

I would not tell CRO it is a medical necessity unless it actually is. We request non-smoking because it actually is medically necessary (DD has asthma, smoke allergy and a heart condition) so for us non-smoking is a must. It is not fair to those who really need a non-smoking room to lie. That being said, I am not implying that the OP is lying, I just don't think anyone should lie about a medical condition.

People who lie about medical conditions may take rooms away from those of us with a legitimate health concern. Again, it's very possible the OP or a member of her group has a medical condition, in which case it's perfectly fine to tell them that in order to get a non-smoking room. But it's not a good thing to lie about.

Just to clarify, I didn't tell the CM that it was a medical "condition". I mentioned that it was important to us to have a non-smoking room because of my wife's allergies (no mention of asthma or anything like that). The "medical conidtion" was noted on the reservation confirmation form when we received it.
