When checking out of BWV & checking into BCV

OK, don't laugh if you think this is a dumb question. :upsidedow Just thinking about my transition day between my stays at BWV and BCV, and how I want to make the move. Staying at BWV first, then moving to BCV.

I'll obviously be walking over to BCV from BWV to check in. I'm thinking that I may as well just bring my luggage along instead of passing it off at BWV so luggage services can transfer it. It will just be one rolling suitcase and a smaller size tote. It may be a little odd walking along the Boardwalk with luggage in tow, but oh well. Seems to make sense to do it.

What would you do? Bring it yourself or have the resorts transfer it?

I would likely just let the hotel do the transfer but there is nothing wrong with your idea since it is not a long walk, unless there are members in your family like mine who find it absolutely necessary to bring everything they own to WDW, packed tightly in very large suitcases that invariably flunk the weight limits at the airport (you just never know when you might actually need that winter coat in Florida in the middle of June). As to the weird/embarrassment factor that one may think about before doing it, I always look at things like that at WDW with the thought that anyone who might think me odd I will likely never see again.

When we were staying at BWV prior to our Disney Cruise, we needed to get over to BCV for the bus pick-up to the ship. There were 8 of us with luggage and we took the boat over. Easy enough.

I would move it, too. After all, they are hotels, and people do generally bring luggage when staying at hotels! I'd rather have it with Bell Services of the second resort rather than in transit all day.

Definitely bring it, they lost ours for 24 hours, major hassle.

When I transferred from YC to BWV I just rolled my suitcase right on to the Friendship.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. I'll go ahead and plan to take the luggage with me since it's just one suitcase and a tote. For some reason, I hadn't even thought about the boat because I'm so used to just walking everywhere when I stay at BWV or BCV. But the boat is a great option if I want to do that.

Thanks again! Flying down there one week from today, and can't wait! :cheer2:

I'm not laughing. It makes perfect sense to me-such perfect sense that that's exactly what I did when I transferred from BWV to BCV. And yes, I did get a few strange looks as I rolled my luggage along the Boardwalk. Now, this was a solo trip, so it was just me. The up-side was that my new room was ready at 10:45 AM.

If it is not too cumbersome I would just walk the luggage over myself.
When leaving one WDW to another I usually call the new resort and check if my room is ready...sometimes I have been lucky and they tell me yes.

If so you would most likely want your luggage with you.
Have a great trip:goodvibes

Weve walked it on the boardwalk, there are boards that go in the direction you walk-so you can avoid the gerchunck gerchunck gerchunck ;)

We've done it too. Glad we did because the room was ready and if we had let Bell services handle it we probably wouldn't have had our luggage until late at night.

I'd definitely roll it with me if that's all I had. It's not that far of a walk and I'd rather the hotel I'm staying at have the luggage then wait for the transfer. Plus if your room is ready you'll have your luggage :).
