When can one Borrow?

If I buy a resale contract that doesn't have points coming until December, could I immediately borrow from it to use for a trip in October or November?

Or does the four month rule somehow mess me up? I know I can't bank that late, I just wondered if I could borrow...

(Assuming that Disney gets it in the system by then, and assuming I could find some place with availability for October or November, of course...)

Yes, you may borrow to make a reservation at a DVC resort. (The four month rule only applies to selected non-DVC resort options).

If you borrow, do keep in mind that the points cannot be returned totheir original use year. So if you end up cancelling that OCtober or November trip, there's a good chance you won't be able to reschedule & use the points prior to the end of your use year (November 30). Borrowed points expire at the end of the use year into which they were borrowed.

Carol gave you the answer, but don't plan on much being available THIS year. Those times are often completely booked up by the 7 month mark.

must I be closed by October 31st to "bank" to 09?

Assume yes is the answer..

What would probability be of being closed for resale by October 31st?
