When can I start using DxDP credits?

If we arrive at our hotel at noon and leave our bags to head to the park, can we start using our DxDP credits right away? Or do we have to wait until our room is ready? We are "checked in" on MDE, but I haven't had the meal plan in a long time so I can't remember if we have to wait to start using our meals. Sorry if this is posted elsewhere and I am missing it - thanks.

Noon of the day your package starts will be fine so long as you check in, room ready or no.
