When can I make a 1st ressie?

I'm buying 270 VWL points, all over the phone (with the help of many people here). I gave a credit card deposit over the phone, and took the MB program (before 4/1), received the paperwork end of last week which included temporary membership cards. I sent Disney the signed contracts and additional deposit check by overnight mail today. Family's now decided we should try to go to our new "home" for a few nights while we're doing summer vacation. When can I call to request a ressie? The "estimated closing date" on my papers is 4/28. Do I wait until then to make a ressie, or can I do it now because I have a member number? If I wait, do I need to verify the closing occurred on time, and who do I ask? Thanks for the help. Maybe you can tell, we're excited about the idea of being part of the DVC magic. . .

I believe you can make your reservation as soon as your financing is approved and you send in the initial paperwork. You have a temp member card go ahead and give them a call.

We have Ressies for early December and havent even received the paperwork yet!

Our financing was approved and our guide cave us the member number. She even banked our remaining 2000 points for us so they would be available in our Dec 2001 use year.

We expect a package from fed ex tomorrow with the contracts.

When I called to put down my deposit, I mentioned the dates I was interested in to my guide and she put a 24 hour hold on the dates. The next day, once my member number had been set up, I was able to call Member Services and confirm the reservation. Paperwork took about a week to get, but I already had the reservations.

This board is so great! I went ahead and phoned MS this morning, and got just what I wanted. We're carving a few days out of our already scheduled (and paid for!) Florida beach vacation, so I got a Sunday through Wednesday reservation at VWL (my home--wow, I love saying that)in late July. I'd told the family that our papers said we couldn't call until the end of this month, and we were afraid that would be too late. You guys were so right, the MS lady never hesitated, I was in the computer, and she was just very nice and helpful. And now, I have a very happy and excited family that thinks I can do DVC magic! Thanks again.

I'm confused? If she took the MB how can she go this summer to the resort? She used MB! DVC bought her points back this year. Will she have to borrow points from next year?
Someone please clear this up for me???

MB only allows you to sell back half your points (at least when buying at VWL). The other half is still available for reservations in your current use year or bank after closing to the next year.
