When are you charged for the dining plan?

If I call today to purchase the dining plan for our November trip, are we required to pay for it now, when the trip gets closer, or when we check in?

I am on DVC points, so i am paying when i check in..

In order to get the dining plan you must book a package thru Disney that includes at least 1 day of park passes for every member of your family. A $200 deposit would be due at the time of booking and the balance is due 45 days before the date of arrival.

The only exception to this is if you are staying at a DVC resort on points. If that is the case, then you would have to pay for your dining plan upon check-in at the resort.

Thank you so much! We are DVC members and have two seperate reservations for one week (splitting our stay). So we figured we'd try out the dining plan for 3 days (while we stay at BWV) and see if we like it.
