When are the parks less crowded in August?

I just got back last night and the crowds were the worst I've seen in 10 years of going in either the first or second full week of August.

American school have little to do with it!! I was very surprised! At least half the visitors I encountered were international. LOTS from British Isles.

But this is still the first half of August. It's still a high-crowd time.

The second half of the month is significantly different.

Going when most schools are back in session is definitely better than going when schools are still out. And there are going to be a lot of international visitors. They are one reason why there are no slow times any more. It's not high season for the South American tour groups, but most of Great Britain is apparently on holiday during August.

School here does not go back until August 31.

I really only go at the end of August because my birthday is then. But the crowds apparently go WAY down the week after Labor Day (first Monday in September). August you still get the tail end of holidays.

there are always lots of north easterners and British when I go at the end of August. But the crowds in general are much lower than the rest of summer.

Second half meaning from the 15th on?

It doesn't drop off like a cliff, but I do think the 15th is approximately when crowds start to gradually decrease.

Hi all,

I usually go to Disney around the week of August 20th. The parks always seem crowded to me, but people have told me this is a good time to go since a lot of schools in the south are back in session so the parks are less crowded.

Is it more crowded if you go say August 10th? (I'd like to go a little earlier next summer) .

Depending upon the day in August, it's usually less crowded between 2 am and 7 am.
