Winter Dec 25 - Jan 26 Direct Incentives

This is what my guide told me:

"Now, the Holiday offers and the links are going to expire tomorrow so I recommend taking a screen shot of them so you can compare should they have new offers. "

I dont know if this means the new stuff will be up on those links per usual or the links wont work all together. The links expiring sounds like theyll be gone all together 🤔

At one point, they didn’t allow you switch incentives after a contract was written. You could completely cancel and start again.

If you went beyond 10 days, you were stuck. It seems to me that what they are doing is just tightening the rules to go by letter of the law?

You get 7 days to lock in incentives and after that, you can’t lock them in again until the next?

I don’t read this to mean you can’t get them if they still exist, but rather you don’t get to keep starting the 7 day clock.

It’s once per incentive cycle. It will be interesting to see.

Ok I just emailed my guide again on her day off to ask if there is somewhere we can see these new incentives online, hopefully I get a response, I feel bad that I keep bugging 😅

I ended up calling in and talking to Bill since he is highly recommended on the boards and he did confirm that it is not a hard sales tactic :(
Anytime you speak to a guide now during an incentive period you have a 7 day window to purchase or you become ineligible for incentives until the next cycle. That is very disappointing to me-back in December I called in just to ask a few basic questions with no intention to purchase soon in mind, yet my 7 days started then and now I cannot complete another tour today to lock in todays prices. The only option is to actually agree to and draw up a contract to secure this cycles pricing.

He did also confirm that there will be changes for tomorrow and the current links will not update like they did in the past.

I wanted to let everyone on here know asap-it seems like getting pricing may be more difficult without reaching out and that in turn starts your 7 days........
I had my "tour" back in mid-December and my guide said the incentives were only good for 7-days. I argued with him about it as I knew the incentives were scheduled to continue, but he was insistent. I ignored that. Then in mid-January, I told him I was ready to purchase and to draw up the contract. And he said nothing about the supposed 7-day window that I was completely past. However, I did purchase and there were no changes in the incentives.
For those getting push-back. Can you just talk to a new guide and start the tour cycle again?

So, I wonder if we will even be able to access the full incentive charts tomorrow like usual or if they're basically going to make you call a guide and start the 7-day clock?

I guess you can use the add-on tool and figure things out for existing members, although I know for CCV this incentive cycle, the add-on tool says, contact your guide for details.
I don't think the add-on tool is all inclusive of the discounts. It doesn't mention anything about the D23 $500 discount right now, unless there is some trick to make it do that??

If I am reading this correctly, they are trying to cut down on the looky-loo calls. They give you the price. That's the price, and it is good for at least the next seven days. If, after that, you are ready to draw up the contract, fine. But, you don't get to "re-start" your 7-day clock.

I'm taking this from these two observations:
my 7 days started then and now I cannot complete another tour today to lock in todays prices. The only option is to actually agree to and draw up a contract to secure this cycles pricing.

Of course, if you draw up and sign the contract, you still get 10 days to rescind it, so you can still straddle if you want, but it is more of a hassle for you and for the Guide.

Or for some, the complete opposite and go with resale or even worse and just walk away all together.
My guess is that they are playing the odds, and the odds are that the tire kickers rarely buy. Why waste a Guide's time with someone who isn't likely to buy when there is someone else who is inclined to sign on the line which is dotted? Because that Guide's time is very directly equal to money.

But, if you move from being a tire kicker to "I'm ready to sign right now," then they can make that happen.

DVC almost certainly has a competent CRM, so probably not.

Agreed but this certainly goes against the old model of take this information home and look it over and when you are ready so am I approach rather than the used car lot or other timeshares approach.

Love seeing all the CCV love this round of incentives. We own BLT resale and had been waiting on the right opportunity to get the blue card direct. We were ready to pull the trigger while we were on the Magic in December. The guide told us he had a guaranteed week 47 PVB, but we found out the unit was tower inventory, not legacy studios so we held off. We had been weighing CCV, too...because we really enjoy the resort, so after reading this thread, I went back to the guide to see what he had.

guaranteed wk 47 was ~140 pts, so by the time we add 25 points to clear the threshold, the 199 points for week 52 made much more sense. The difference is purchase price (~$7k) would be pretty quickly absorbed over the difference in rack rates for a week 52 room.

We are reviewing the contract now for our guaranteed week 52! Any thing else we should be thinking about or reviewing as the incentives period transitions?

Thanks, all! Maybe soon I can learn how to update my signature with ownership and info :)

Just catching up on this - congrats - we also own this week at CCV! Wishing you many years of wonderful memories!

Thank you so much! We are very excited - confirmed with member services that 2026 isn't available, but I managed to snag a portion of the week direct booking split between our CCV and BLT points. :)

On the cruise, they did everything for the contract. It was then emailed to us. He told us…
  1. Do NOT sign it until new incentives/pricing come out and he would email it to us day it comes out.
  2. We should not touch the points.
  3. If better incentives, change resort, etc he will have that destroyed and we start new. If we like the ones ending shortly, we then sign.
BTW, he was adamant on the 45-day limitation to pay it off.

I see some changes in the add-on tool. New per-point pricing and new expiration date. But doesn't look like different incentives-- wait those are different, but worse. 1770699933145.png

200 points says -$5600 which is the same as before but with base price increase its ofc worse. $-3600 is better than before on 150 points but with the base price increase of $3 it puts it at being worse for vdh, unless theres some kind of credits we dont know about yet that are better.

Talking to a guide earlier today, I asked about 60 days to pay it off, and she said the new rule is 30 days. I guess that means I'll get my Magical Beginnings that much quicker if I have to pay it off within 30 days.

They told me 30 days when I bought back in September. I didn't ask about 60 though, because I was fulfilling the spend for the CSR Business card, which turned out fantastic. 4x points on the $30K+ purchase, plus 200K sign up bonus.
