When are dining rotations assigned?

Are dining rotations assigned prior to the cruise or do you not find out until onboard? Can you request a certain rotation and if so how likely is it to get what you want? Are some more popular than others? (Note we are doing the 7 night western)

Your dining rotation will be noted on your KTTW card and included in information that will be in your stateroom.

I believe they start working on the dining assignments/rotations about 2 weeks prior to the cruise. However, you don't find out what they are until you check in.

You can request specific rotations, but it is only a request (and they will point that out to you). Many such requests are honored. Some are not. If you don't like your assignment, after you board there is a dining changes table you can go to and see if they can accommodate whatever change you want.

I don't know the specific rotations, but some people prefer the "fancier" dining room (Tritons'; Lumieres'; etc) for formal/semi-formal nights. Or Parrot Cay for Pirates. But I enjoy whatever dining room we're in for whatever night it is.

The above is correct...they supposedly make a rough plan about 2 weeks in advance. I know this isn't a final version because each time I've done a B2B cruise, I've been contacted toward the end of the first leg asking if I had any dining requests for the second leg (specific rotation/servers/seated alone or with others, etc).

You find out your assigned dining rotation when you get your KTTW card. If for some reason you are unhappy with that, you can go to "dining changes" after boarding to see whether you can be moved to something you'd like better.

Many people like to know their rotation before choosing a Palo night--this is not possible. However, after boarding it is possible to move either the Palo or the rotation if space is available. I'm with the above poster--it is not a big deal to eat in Lumiere's on formal night. It's nice, but it doesn't make or break the cruise, and only 1/3 of the guests can be in this situation!

!

I was told that they start planning 2 days in advance but saying that they do it 2 weeks in advanced makes more sense.

We weren't contacted on our B2B but it might be a hit or miss thing. We just went ahead and told our HS at the last breakfast that we wanted the same servers for the second leg and he made it happen.
