My mother-in-law needs a wheel chair for long "walks". We will be staying at HRH. I was wondering if anyone knows if wheel chairs are available in the hotel (for the long corridors) and if so, can these wheechairs be taken into the 2 parks and citywalk?

Randy,
Do your Mom in Law a Huge favor and rent her an ECV - I've rented about 3 times from Walker Mobility ( www.walkermobility.com ) - they deliver the ECV (an Electric Convienence Vehical )to the hotel AND pick it up for free. They drop it off for you at Bell Services and you return it there.

It recharges in your room at night (just plug it in).

It offers tons more independence (your Mom in Law can drive it herself - go where she wants, when she wants and no one has to push her . SHe can drive it from the hotel to the theme parks and City Walk - no problem (I've stayed at Hard Rock with one myself). It costs about $30.00 a day (THe BEST $30.00 a day you will spend). Visit the Disabilities board if you want more info on ECVs.

Puffy2, thanks for your advice. Will the ECV take up much room in regular sized room? Should we upgrade to a deluxe room?

Can you get the ECV in the boats between the hotels and parks? For the days when we want to swim at the other hotels?

We stayed at the Hard Rock - it fit just fine right beside the television/dresser and plugged in there. It does take up room but it wasn't a problem for us (two people).

I didn't use the boats - it was easier for us just to ride the ECV to where ever we wanted to go - the walk from resort resort really isn't that far - and it is scenic . You could ask about the boat and ECVs - at Disney you can use there boats, but sometimes there is a problem if the water levels are not right.

We just lleft the HRH on Sat. My husband uses an ECV. It fit fine in a standard room( even with the 4 of us)
