Has anyone experienced having something taken from their wheelchair bag that was hanging on the back of their wheelchair, while parked, and left unoccupied? I've always worried about this while at Disney World, but so far, it hasn't happened with me. Even when we had to leave my wheelchair in the "wheelchair parking" at Pirates (where you would park your wheelchair if it can't be folded up and taken onto the ride, and had to transfer to one of the ride's folding manual wheelchairs).

When I park my ECV I will take out anything I cannot afford to lose, such as my cell phone and camera, as well as anything I might have bought that day. I sometimes leave in a poncho, sweatshirt and/or book or magazine.

in general I'm pretty trusting, but I do have a "grab bag" inside our big bag that has meds, camera, phone etc in it, I leave the big bag (change of clothes, cream, wipes, water and stuff) hanging on the chair.

same here - i always take the valuables with me. unimportant things stay in ecv basket. except once i mistakenly left "important" bag behind on ECV at flying carpet of aladdin. didn't realize it until we got off and didn't have it. gratefully it was still there.

We do the same and have never missed anything.

I have never had a problem. We have been very lucky too. Sometimes we have left our camera in the bag by error. When we got back it was there! Incredible as it may sound. I have also seen cameras left behind in the baskets of some ecv's.

That is what do. I have never had a problem but I will not take chances with valubles.

In June 2003,we had our grandmother with us who was using an ECV. We had parked her ECV outside Biergarten in Germany, and when we got back,we discovered our misty fan had been stolen from the basket. You can never be too careful.

I had one of those brita filter sport bottle taken last June. They left my camera, but too the water bottle. It was rainy the days we were there and not super hot, but I suppose the person was REALLY thristy.

Since then I take my water bottle with me, even if they don't take it somebody might take a sip from it. Ew!

We generally leave our backpack with the park maps, water bottles, wipes etc on the wheelchair but take all valuables (cameras etc). If the bag gets stolen it would be inconvenient but nothing more but so far all has been fine.
