It's been years since I've stayed in a cabin at Fort Wilderness, but I seem to remember the one we were in had a few steps to get up into the cabin.

Do all the cabins have steps? Are there any with wheelchair ramps? If so, how far in advance would you suggest I book this (for a trip in January - not during holiday season)?

There are cabins with ramps and roll-in showers. I would suggest booking as soon as you can although I think there are quite a few. They assigned us to an accessible cabin one year even though we had no one needing it. It wasn't a busy time so I don't believe it was due to overbooking standard cabins.

Not all the accessible cabins have a roll in shower so make sure you request one if you need it. They can bring you a transfer chair for the a tub if you have a tub. All the accessible cabins have a ramp and are in the 2500 or the 2800 loops.

Great! Thanks for all the info. I would not have thought of the transfer chair, but I'll make sure to request it if we can't get the roll-in shower.
